You don't need to solder anything. Download xellous from xbins, rename xell-2f.bin to updxell.bin, copy updxell.bin to a usb stick, boot into xell with the usb stick attached and let it update. Once updated deleted updxell.bin from the usb and copy the new updpatch.bin to the usb stick. Boot into xellous (eject button) with the usb stick attached and let it update.

As taken from the xellous guide:USB Notes:
For best results of getting the usb device detected. Remove the power plug from the console
after running the MS dashboard. Then reinsert the power plug, insert usb device and then
boot into XeLLous.

Are you making sure to start your system with the eject button (and letting the tray open all the way) and were you using XBR3 or XBR1?

If you can still boot XELL, you don't need to install Xellous to recover XBR. If you still have the original XBR, you can download the Gentoo Live CD, boot it up, and follow this tutorial to flash XBR with lflash.c: http://ep-comps.com/...lflash_16mb.rtf

This is a shot in the dark but, your dvd drive is connected correct?

QUOTE(pink1 @ Mar 4 2010, 08:04 PM) View Post

no XELL just black screen and green light

To quote Looouky from the xellous thread:

black screen with green usually means your jtag wires are incorrect connected. I told you this already, check your soldering. I have done 4 big blocks jasper using my tut, 2 256 and 2 512.

To quote Looouky from the xellous thread:
