Is it possible to delete the launch.xex from xbox hdd using some linux live cd?

with a cygnos chip u have to flash the nand COMPLETLY and WITH CYGNOS TOOLBOX
not with nandpro

so u have to PREPARE the FULL IMG to flash with nandpro:
nandpro XBR.bin: +W16 updpatch.bin 65 1   (nothing like usb or / lpt )

what i dont know is if the command is still "+W" if i dont flash the nand directly (through usb/lpt)
but just edit the nand image on computer with nandpro virtual nand handling, i would guess its the same command but i dunno... the nandpro readme confuses me pretty much

in other words i have no idea what this whole SPARE shit means at all... and i dont find any good explanation with google

or are there any cygnos v2 users, that dont flash the nand with the cygnos toolbox but with the usual non cygnos jtag methods like flash360 or nandpro ? anyway it would be interesting if the nandpro cmd is the same or not

USB version of Freestyle works for me.

It's on the HDD with the thumbdrive plugged into the back.

Auto boots into freestyle, with all the content/graphics/etc loaded, and games run fine.

What about using the xex that is on the Freestyle boot cd? That has a easy to use config file where you can choose what to load (from anywhere).

@shabang22: right you have freestyle actually on the hdd and the fsdata installed to usb correct? that does work fine the problem was when all freestyle data was on the usb drive. the usb drive was not yet initialized when launch.xex called for it. This issue should be fixed in the next release hopefully.

@Jbonze: can't use that exact xex because of certain code needed, like the pause to enable xexmenu to work, but something similar is in the works.

wow how did you get so luck. no one I know of has had that usb launcher work properly. a new one is in development tho.

No clue honestly, I fiddled with the damn thing for at least an hour before I got it working...

well the creator has said that the launch.xex is being executed before the usb drive would be initialized and that was the problem and will be fixed in next release. so not sure how yours is working but glad it is.

Anyone found a way to delete the crashing launch.xex from the root of the xbox hdd? Without the hdd box is working.
