Summary Of Homebrew / Apps?
« on: February 26, 2010, 02:20:00 AM »

I think I speak for a lot of people here when I say the homebrew scene is getting more exciting every day.  Can someone tell me if there  is a thread/sticky on here that lists the current latest recommended versions of the following and the like:

Nand Release:
- XBR 0.05_3... etc.

Dashboard:
- Freestyle v1.08

Image extraction tool:
- ...?

Container tool:
- ...?

Genesis Emulator:
- ...?

Etc... etc...
- ...?

I'm not trying to recommend them myself but there are lots of versions of all dashboards/apps/tools etc which is a good thing I was just thinking of maybe a thread to see the current "who's who" of each type of homebrew tool which shows the current recommended (maybe voted for?) tool to use for a certain task.

Example:

HOMEBREW USER: "hmmm, I sure would like to use a different looking dashboard at the minute.  I wonder which one is currently the most stable and user friendly.  WOW look, this thread tells me 82% of people are using Freestyle right now I'll check out the features.

[...reading info on freestyle...]

"Yep, the scene was right it seems perfect for me and I'm super happy I think I just let a little bit of pee out for saving so much time trying all the dashboards  biggrin.gif "

EDIT:  I know there is a sticky on the Technical Onboard section about versions available I was thinking of just listing the one most used/preferred of each which could maybe be voted linked.

This sounds like a good idea, maybe make a thread with multiple polls to see what everyone prefers.

But for emus, use the Genesis one that is on the front page, and for Snes use the 2010 year of homebrew one, both made by anonymous.

Id reccommend using quickboot 1.2 or 2.0 also.

If you want gods, use Iso2God, or NXE2God.

For image extracting, you can use Xbox Image Browser.
