You're probably right, it seems like they are cleaning house or sick of getting returned defective 1.6 boards.

Yeah, could someone please try sticking in a chip?

I've got one of the supposed 1.4 models, and would like to know for sure.

I have one (1) chip and one (1) Xbox that took forever to get, and I don't want to mess it up and have to wait another 5 months for one to be in stock.

That, and I spent what was left of my savings on this Xbox, and am now broke.

w00t for having a job and getting your position snaked by the owners know-nothing son.

K, reading other posts, I'm 99.9% sure it's a v1.4. I'll give it a shot and post the results.

Just in case, would I need one of them fancy schmancy sauter remover tools if the holes are filled? Or could I just free hand it? I'm pretty handy with sautering irons and welding and whatnot.

quick q

Do I have to use a multimeter, or can I just use a detection tool to see if there's juice in the 9 pin? As I said earlier, all my tools are at my friends house, including my multimeter. All I've got is this lightup juice detector.
