I just went out to see if I could get ahold of a new xbox to see if it is in fact a V1.4 but the three stores I went to were out of stock. I went to Best Buy, Game Stop, and one of the three WalMarts in town. Oh well...

Wow thats some news. What did they do about the power supply ? is a 1.6 supply compatible with a 1.4 board and vise versa. I know the pins are the same but still.

The power supply is a v1.4 supply. The 1.6 uses a different power supply.

I've also seen some reports on IRC of people getting Xbox's dates 1-04-2005 with v1.4 motherboards.

Well I just opend another XBOX with the man. date of 1-7-2005 and it was a damn 1.6. Lol I guess I got too happy, I hate those damn LPC's.
