HDD Compatibility Partition Fixer v1
Posted by XanTium | January 25 18:18 EST | News Category: Xbox360

From the readme/nfo:
Quote

XeDev proudly presents a Xbox1-Compatibility-Partition Fixer. It will create a proper Partition2 on a X360-HDD that was formatted via XBReboot. Be sure that you reboot your console after executing this program. XeXMenu(info)'s FTP won't see the Partition until there's a file on it, so copy a file via XeXMenu on it and it will be shown via FTP too.
This Patcher does NOT include the XBox1-Emulator files!

!!! WARNING !!!
This application will wipe your maybe existing Partition2

Official Site: http://xedev.xbins.org
Download: n/a (built with XDK)

interested to see if this will make the partition 0 too as would be perfect then and quick to do

In meantime, typically just before this came out lol, I made this http://forums.xbox-scene.com/index.php?showtopic=703986  which worked for me earlier today with no messing about hex editing etc.  Hopefully if it does do all 3 partitions though it will be a top app

basically as i understand it , when you format a non microsoft hard drive on a jtagged console , it does not create partition2(this partition i think is for original xbox compatability) , this app creates it for you without hex editing , and allows jtag users to use original xbox games biggrin.gif

it does not put the Xbox emulator files in place.  but to fix the xbox emulator, grab your OEM Microsoft drive and hook it to yer PC and run Xplorer360 Extreme2 then backup partition 2 and then restore partition2 on your large drive you used this app on.

If I use this to create partition2, can I install the xbox emulator from the 2007 system update I downloaded from xbox.com? I just don't want to install 2007 system update if it will mess up my xbr and/or homebrew.

My XBR formatted my Hitachi 250 GB HDD (non official) just fine, and Partition2 is there and all.

Installed the Backwards compatibility update and it did install.

Using XeXMenu can see the stuff in it... but........ I can't see it via FTP from my PC  blink.gif

Just put something in the HDDX from xexmenu, if that does not work, I don't know what else to do...

I've tried this partition fixxxer and worked great for me.

What happens if you just run the last backwards compatibility installing xex from microsoft with xbr/non-ms hdd?

I did that, and it created a hddX partition viewable in xexmenu. I don't have any compatible xbox 1 games, however. So I'm not sure if it is functional. The couple non-compatible games tell me I need to download them again, which seems to be a strange error. I then copied over the files from my old 20gb ms hdd. (Don't have a computer I can do this all on, so it seemed fortunate that I could do it all from the 360). I'm also not sure if partition 0 or 1 were created. I actually can't find any information about what these partitions are for, other than partition 0 being cache related (mandatory?).
