XM360 v0.4
Posted by XanTium | January 22 12:13 EST | News Category: Xbox360

Team XeDev released a new version of XM360:
Quote

This includes all of the features of XBLA Unlocker previously released by dstruktiv.
The additional "Collection Management" is contributed by node21.

What's new/fixed (v0.4)
* Added ability to launch titles directly from the Scan list, or the Collection Manager List  (for  titles that you actually have) [use the A button]
* added support for multiple usb devices being connected
* More information is added the the resulting xbla_report.txt so you can choose to ignore missing titles that are rated very low.
* Some titleIds are intentionally duplicated since they exist in the wild, but aren't on the MS web site.  You should simply "Ignore" (with the X button) the versions that you don't have (assuming you care about such things)

Official Site: n/a, by Team XeDev (thx to WarriorSan for the news)
Download: n/a (built with XDK)

Glad you like it.

Moving this comment over from the 0.3 thread:

There is a new known issue with 0.4... Super Contra has two IDs...but one of them is identical to Rocket Riot. So it gets mixed up between those two titles...I'll address it in the next release.

please correct me if I'm wrong.

This allows you to play XBLA games directly from USB?  Or must they still be copied over to 360 main hdd?

on searching

I found this

QUOTE
Version 0.2:
*Added version display to screen
*Search 3 different paths for installed XBLA titles
* hdd:\\Content\000000000000000
* usb:\\Content\000000000000000
* usb:\\360dashit\\Content\000000000000000

I've tried copying the relevant folders to both the 2 usb folders....but XM360 v0.4 does not see them??  It only seems to see the ones I copy to the standard hdd?

FWIW I have xm360v0.4 in folder usb:\\apps\xm360v0.4\

Any ideas why it won't work - and can anyone confirm if xbla games can indeed be played from USB? (both within xm360 and from the dash)

Also the drive for me is USB0:  as reported in xexmenu (using temporarily in front of console while get to grips with transferring etc before switch to larger hdd with docking station in the back ports

* MAKE SURE that you delete your old xbla_titles.csv on the root of your USB drive if you have one there
* New script to recreate the database is included, but it take *MUCH* *MUCH* longer to run if you need to run it (you should only need it once a week or so when new titles are released, if you care to be that up-to-date)

How do you recreate the database/run script? Great tool, works great!

Edit: I think I got it to work. Just run the .pl? Where is the database file created?

The paths it searches are in the README file.

Not sure what to say about titles not being found on USB.  I have confirmed cases of it working fine, even on multiple USB devices connected at the same time (USB0: and USB1:).

As far as launching titles...it will launch them from where ever they are located, so, if they are on USB, they will be launched from USB.  This also is confirmed working.

Running the script is also described in the README file.  Execute the perl script, and redirect its output to a file.  Yes, it connects to the MS marketplace website and scrapes it...it can take a few minutes to complete.  Run it on Thursdays after XBLA titles are released on Wednesday.  ;-)

just had thought - my hdd is in 2 partitions - first active partition being a fat32 partition with the main data on.  2nd partition a bootable bartpe fat16 partition - wonder if the 2 partitions on one drive could be related?
