Getting from a library compiling, to creating an application that can utilize it, irrespective of whether it is stable or not is a "few days" task, especially when the library is the size of libavcodec, and not tested

Please to all those who have something in the pipline regarding a sort of media center/multi media supported dash, please take hardware additions into consideration! Think about it just for one second:
Ability to exchange the standard dvd drive with a bluray (or add an external one)
Ability to add a HDTV Usb receiver stick. (with support of softcams emulation recording etc)
just imagine: the 360 able playing blurays and hdtv (given the cost of the drive and stick you would get the ultimate media machine for 400 bucks. less even when the drives and sticks get cheaper)
if you then take into consideration what natal might be able to do... you enter the room natal recognizes your face and mood and starts playing music accordingly then later that day natal sees you and turn on the tv chan of your favorite show that runs that night.
I know it's hard I know it's a lot of work but the result would be awesome.

guys let the author try his best with what he is currently working on. A simple media player. in reality requesting heavy features and expectating crazy features within a month is unrealistic. let him finish with whatever his goals are. If it grows from there... then it will be a different story

i am not saying to include all those features right from the start. (i am sorry if this was not clear) All i am saying is it would be great if any type of media dash/app would be in future customizeable in a sense that drivers etc could be 'easily' implemented. That is all. Again I am sorry if I sounded like a lil kid in disney world.

Good work Joohan, ive gained some insight into what your doing despite being a complete noob to c++ programming. I have a noobish question, i know the answer would most like be no way... but do you think it would be possible to compile the the linux kernel in SDK so we could have an OS on 360??

actually now that i think about it, i guess once weve loaded the XBR dash theres already a kernel in place and we couldnt really run one on top of that?? the thing is currently linux on 360 is very weak, we dont get full speed CPU or GPU functions, and i was just thinking if maybe its possible to run a xex linux of some sort... just wondering...

EDIT: actually now that i thought about it, isnt Xell a linux kernel itself?? is it just a limited one? would there be a way to compile Xell in SDK and have it run from XBR?? really noobish questions i guess...

Xell = Xell Linux Loader ...
It's not a kernel ...
