Okay, so this is probably the MOST noob question there is, but where would one start to get information about coding this type of app, or anything for the Xbox 360?

When the hacking of the original Xbox was going on, I had no programming knowledge, but I am taking some programming classes now, and have a grasp of it to some degree. Basically, I'm asking where a good starting point is.

Thanks guys.

I agree with the variety of dashboards being available just like with the xbox 1, but I also do agree on a single library that all the apps for the 360 are based on. NOT the official xbox 360 sdk but like the free legal one that psp developers use to make apps nowadays. Why do you think so many sites host eboot files? Because the psp toolchain was made from scratch with no Sony code in it. The xbox 1 even has this in the form of the openxdk, though it didn't go very far a few apps and emus where released as well as an open source dash with no M$ code involved.

I really hope that the 360 doesn't have to go through the same "get this app from the usual places cause it contains M$ code" bs like the xbox 1. As a matter of fact I recall there being a sort of open source library released a while ago in the Xedk dev section as well. I just cannot find it after a quick search around.

Not hating on libxenon, but if it's equal to or greater than the resource that XeXDK is, I'm all for it. Whichever is  the easier and more powerful tool to use to port and create homebrew with is win in my books.

I've just been of the opinion (maybe I'm wrong) that a secondary library will never be as good (take that with a grain of salt) as the original. I have no quarrels with going to "the usual place" to get this stuff, it's piss easy to do and requires just a tiny bit more time than a direct download.

If that means faster releases and a more complex and intuitive codebase, that's what we should go with.

super noob question here...

I assume this also requires the jtag hack?

Are there any launchers that do not require it?

yes this requires xbreboot which needs the jtag hack to run. These 'launchers' only run from the dashboard which is really the hacked (exploitable)(run unsigned code) 8955 dash, rebooted into, from xell, hence the name 'xb-reboot'.

No it doesn't, You need to be more careful.

I'm having trouble booting this from my memory card. Amazingly enough I got something from the usual places with no readme. I've tried it in my profile's folder along with my other game saves, and in it's own 0000* folder like the topic thread states for the hdd. Both show a game for a split second then "nothing". Nxe says I don't have any games. I'm gonna try a couple more tests.
Any suggestions?

You people understand that x-s and probably every other site you've read are merely the tabloids of the scene right? The real guys are out there making shit happen and this is the run off... Looks like a decent program to me! Shit this would have been great 4 weeks ago! Let's see more!

About time we didn't see someone make something and ask for a handout charity smile.gif muhaha.gif

I DID NOT MAKE THIS!!

This was coded by a friend, with permission to post. He wishes to remain anonymous, and therefore will.
