USB Loader v.01
Posted by XanTium | December 19 23:41 EST | News Category: Xbox360

Yelrac released a new program for homebrew (freeBOOT/XBReboot) Xbox 360s:
Quote

This tool will let you run a .XEX in the root of an USB device without having to launch XeXLoader first.
For example, with it you can launch an alternative dash like the one based on the OXM Disc directly.

To use it, you must rename the default.xex to usb.xex in the root of USB device. Renaming the default.xex avoids having to disconnect the USB device when you restart the Xbox since there is no more default.xex in the root.

There are 2 ways to install the USB Loader:
1) Burn the ISO image on a CD. Launch it from your Xbox360 and USB Loader will be install automatically.
2) If you already have XeXLoader, copy the 00000001 directory in the genuine HDD to Content/0000000000000000/

Once the installation is done, USB Loader will be displayed in your Games Library.

IMO This is kind of a waste.
Is it really all that hard to use xexloader ?

What is it like 2 buttons to launch it.

Apparently this is working a little better then xexloader on compatibility.

Is there an option for an ini I can change? If I could write which xex it loaded I think this would be a little better.

Well if it works better then I guess I'm wrong.
Surprised though that this is on front page and yet the XBReboot for Jasper 256/512 nand being released is still going unmentioned for a few days now since it was released.

So many people have been waiting for that release and don't even know it's available.

Question:  I know one cannot transfer game saves/profiles from a banned console to a non banned console that is connected to xbox live, but can one transfer game saves/profiles from a Jtag hacked (never xbox live connected) console to an xbox live console without penalty or corruption?

Yes you can, if it's jtag hacked then that means it never had the latest dash/cb and couldn't have been banned/crippled in the recent ban wave.

I have a couple boxes around the house so I keep my profiles on a memory unit and swap it around with no problem.

all this app is for is loading a specific xex rather then picking xexloader then manually selecting the xex you wanna load.

xexloader is nice, but it lacks a nice looking gui.

using this usb loader with 360menu would keep things cleaner.

its just a matter of time before xexloader becomes better looking though.

still, its great to see alternative apps.

I'm with you on this one. I would love a program like this that I can pack into a PIR file that launches an xex on my internal hard drive. I don't use a USB HD because my games stutter (slow RPM I guess) but they don't from the internal.

Has anybody tried the OXMLauncher? It looks lopvely as an alternative dash for loading my games. If I could just get it to boot from the dash with sticking it in a PIR file.
