If you've started porting an emulator using the Sdk then why don't you just compile the samples and try run them yourself? They all work btw, though you will need to run X360GameHack on the compiled xex with the default options to get it to boot.

Xcontent sample is a good example of that included ATG framework and has few basic goodies (Sets up a d3d device and has a font rendered etc amongst a lot of other things).
