wow. i'm so excited, this is the stuff i've been waiting for! i'm pretty sure the scene will explode in a few months smile.gif

well, let's check. what do we have here...

got a brand new jasper motherboard. soooo, for the jtag hack, it has to be an old one, right?

too bad, but i won't mind buying a new xbox360 just for homebrew. it's just too awesome.

could someone point me into the right direction (-maybe a link-)?

e.g. which version is jtag-able, how do i find out, what my version is (16MB, 256/512MB NAND? and i thought i read that it's possible to jtag the new 256/512 model, too? am i wrong?)

- i'm a little confused right now, but i will do the research, google is my friend! smile.gif

this is just awesome smile.gif

thanks to anyone involved. you gotta love the scene smile.gif

There is really no way to tell just by looking at the xbox to determine if it's JTAG hackable.

If the dashboard version is less than 8xxx that's a start.  Then you need to dump the Nand to see if the CB version is low enough so that is does not have the new bootloader that patches the JTAG exploit.

Around June to July (Date is still up for question) MS started making 360's with the new bootloader pre-installed even though the Dashboard version is low enough.

Each xbox 360 version has its own CB version to look for.

Check out www.Free60.org for more info on the JTAG hack.

So in theory we can install a 500GB laptop harddrive, copy retail games (strip Wave4/5 update) and copy them to harddrive ?

Not just "in theory", but "in fact."

unfortunately the scene is still tightly closed and no one wants to share. wont see no patch loading until that changes.

so im confused. been out of the scene for a quite a while, loved it when it was xbox 1. So now there is homebrew  sweet. Do we now need to still burn the games and then copy it to the xbox 360 or is there a staight to xbox 360 via land cable like the xbox 1 was. Also is this xex loader only valid on non upgraded xbox 360, i think i by accidentally updgraded when call of duty modern war fare came out and i pressed upgrade to play only to find it not working because it was a dirty disc lol.

You can extract the image and put that on usb/sata hard drive.. or the xbox harddrive with a modded cable. sorry no homebrew (maybe never) if you updated with COD

In Xexloader v0.12 I had problem with:
1. I couldn't copy/past/delete files and/or folder in a usb hard drive that was formatted as hfs+
2. I couldn't open folders who has many files in it, for example "Dead Rising" game folder.
Just wonder if this I fixed in the Xexloader 0.17? =)

Either way it is an totally awesome app =D

(Sorry for my English, I'm fromSweden.)

He was SOL when he asked what a SATA drive was.  Im 99% sure he would of been stuck on the cable.

Thats a limitation of the xbox. Use FAT32. (use Swissknife to format larger harddrives.)
there is a limit of folders in it.. like 500-512

Okey thank you Icekiller2k6!
It sucks that i already have putten 45 games on my 1tb drive xD

It's not possible to increase the limit of folders?
sorry if it's a dumb question, I have no programmer skills whatsoever.
Thank you again

So whats the deal w/ Achievements gained from these XeXLoaded games?

Im assuming, since the console isn't banned (since it never got caught in the banwave, since it wasnt on live), that GamerTags/Achiements from these consoles should work fine in an Xbox-Live console?

Console A: JTAGged. XeXloaded game. Get 1000G on Profile X.
Console B: Insert memorycard from Console A, sign on to Live, update GamerScore.

?

Second that, i'd like to know the same thing...

How do you go from an ISO to the files on a FAT32 harddisk?
Is burning it to DVD and extracting it with xexloader the only option, or could you do this on a PC?

It seems there is no new functionality. XEX patching would have been nice, a FTP server would have been extremely nice. I don't care about looks, so nice looking GUI isn't important, it could have been added later. I think it should be split: Launcher (which will only display the default.xexs internal name) and file manager (like it is with 0.12).

Well I've been working with the FreeXeX team on things other than the XexLoader and I can tell you that both of things have been and are continuing to be looked into, but they're not as simple as they sound. Xorloser didn't make his XexTool's later revisions open-source so everything on that part has to be reversed from scratch, and the 360 kernel automatically encrypts all network traffic, so right now a way to disable the encryption is being looked into so we can have an FTP server. Just be patient.
