I'll test and let you know....

nope still getting freezing.

Also have had to redo the setup page several times. you know the one that you get when you first turn on a new xbox. is this normal or is there perhaps something wrong when I wrote XBR

This happened to me when my jtag wires had a contact.

I have 3 different games on my 1 tb drive. you have to extract each to a folder at the root. SO i have
usb0://UFC
usb0://Ac2
usb0://COD4

you then go to that folder and select default.xex and the game starts. I have also played with 360menu which is a GUI for this but all games/pics etc have to be manually set-up for now.

Noob question: how did you do that? Since I can't make a 500gb fat32, I made a partition and formated it in fat32, but xexloader doesn't see it. The problem is within my hard drive or I messed up something?

My guess is that he soldered a SATA cable to the HDD header under the motherboard, and soldered up a SATA power connector (5v from the HDD header, ground wires to the shielding, 12v from power supply connector) and connected a 1TB HDD and formatted it with the 360.

This is what I did anyway. smile.gif

eheh, I'd like to do something like that but I dunno where to get the sata and the power cable from.

If I buy the cygnos chip and use freeboot, will I get the same freezes with new games as well? Or the problem is inside the xexloader?

AFAIK, XBReboot is what causes the freezing, not XexLoader.

It has also been speculated that USB HDDs are the bottleneck, and that SATA wired HDDs dont have the freezing issues, but i'm not sure.

Freeboot apparently doesn't suffer from this problem, but I can't confirm that...

The games I have tried thus far (Sonic's Ultimate Genesis Collection and Monopoly) have had no freezing/lag issues being run off my 1TB SATA-wired HDD. happy.gif

Can you snap a picture or describe where the SATA headers are in the 360.  I am trying to get my HDD to work but seems that the external connector on top of the 360 has gone bad.

I would like to try this out or I will have to take the USB route.

Thanks

I tried to play the games from the Xbox 20gb HDD and still had the same problems. One game i tried had slowdowns when playing from the XBox HDD, but no problems with an usb one, strange.

You got the XEX download instead of the LIVE or ISO.

I just have to say BRAVO to the team that developed this.

Finally, FINALLY got around to jTaging, dumping (3x), and flashing tonight. Took me the greater part of the evening and into the AM, but I got it all working 1st try!!!

Loaded up Xexloader and Holy crap. Not only did it recognize my USB hard drive, but it found the second Fat32 partition of TWO partitions. Loaded up Banjo Kazooie that was patched with xbox360gamehack, and it loaded........INSTANTL without a sound.

I am floored. This is too good to be true.

Thankyou again for providing the community with such a great tool so soon.

Ran into a freeze with Banjo Kazooie, almost 5 minutes in.

I'm going to try either clear title updates...or patch them. I don't know how to patch them, as I don't know where they are located. However, I do know how to clear the xbox 360 of it's cache......

So far, every retail DVD I tried to rip and patch, froze when I tried to play from it.
Some games freeze randomly, and some at a specific spot.
I tried playing from an external USB harddisk, aswell as the original Xbox harddisk.
I also attempted using XeXTool and Gamehacker, with varied parameters, but that didn't seem to fix it.

Whoever is having success, can you please detail your system, and parameters so we can try to pinpoint why some people are having problems, and some are not ? I suggest something like this:

MB: Xenon
Rebooter: XBR 8955_1
Game: ....
Parameters Used: .....
Media Used: USB HD, USB flash, or Sata HD

I suspect that it might be something like, Freeboot working, and not XBR.
