Microsoft makes them, and unless you're a developer/publisher. You can find them floating around on the internet. You just missed one on ebay, it sold for $1100. Just keep looking.

Xbox Development Kits are very popular although are not to be owned by individuals without actually being a licensed developer for the Xbox. It is up to the developers themselves to trade/sell these development kits to the public but if found out could easily lose privilages to use an XDK for personal use which is why it's always a shady deal when someone goes to buy one. You may find some of these here and there out in the open like eBay or craigslist or even Xbox-Scene's very own BST but the developers themselves will never sell it themselves so publicly which makes these hard to find and are rare. The pricess on these can vary from $1 all the way up to $10,000 from what I've seen before, it just depends on the buyer how much they are willing to pay and the seller how much he thinks he can give it away for.

But the XeXDK is a great tool if used for the right purposes, in our case this is for homebrew.

Agreed, and one nice 'feature' is getting to play xbla games before they're released! tongue.gif

Most, if not all of the black/grey devkits that were produced in 2005 have the final motherboard, version 11. the only ones that have earlier versions are marked as such (prototype sticker, or unfinished code sticker... There is no way to tell what version the motherboard is, unless, of course, you actually open it up...

I'd recommend no one bid for those, you can't view the sellers feedback items. Sometimes people setup 'fake' accounts and buy all of those email things that cost like 1p each for getting feedback. Seems he also claims to be selling two, yet the pictures are the same, anyone whos interested i'd recommend they message the seller and get them to put their username on a piece of paper, and a news paper with todays date on and photograph it to proove they actually have at least one.

Just a heads up, as i'm very worried someones going to get ripped off.

Looks legit, what do you guys think?

Don't bump old threads to spam your sales here.

Next time don't use the same account name on youtube.  You guys are too easy.
