Can someone  please explain exactly what happened?Did good ol TX release something because someone else released it without giving a damn about making money? Is TX booty hurt becuase of it? Are the TX fanboys booty hurt becuase of it too? lets get down to the truth and expose these lames.

I'm confused as well. J-runner is a jtag thing isn't it? What does it have to do with RGH? I never paid attention because I didn't have a box I could jtag. Can someone explain this to me like I'm a 5 year old please?

Am I right from reading this thread that slims will no longer be patchable in a few months?

Ie like the original JTAG exploit that got patched a few years ago?

If you have your CPUKey you can always downgrade your slim using CB_A 9188 that part can never be removed/patched, however MS can patch the rest of it and make it ALOT harder to get your CPUKey...

Then how did people originally get the cpu key then?

profits ? its free you jackass

But not the so called "RGH 2.0" device TX wanted to sell.
So do not insult the OP who is absolutely correct.

QUOTE(xiaNaix @ Mar 6 2012, 06:45 PM) View Post

and this hack has been amongst many guys for weeks now.

That is wrong.
TX said that they are releasing a "NEW RGH2.0 capable device".
The new method from Marchisio&Vola does not need a new
device. It even does not need new timings. SO their way is different.
Face the facts:
The obvious reason TX kept their way internal,
was the fact that they needed some time to produce new hardware
to flood the market with...
BTW:
Hiding never stopped M$ from removing security holes.

Actually, if we hide the way we do shit it'll be harder for MS to patch it, how will they patch a hole they don't know how it's beeing exploited? now, sure they can probably figure it out and solve the "problem" the same way hackers do, but if we don't tell them HOW we do things they'll have to figure it out themselves, figuring things out take time... if we give them our knowledge we're supplying them with a shortcut to starting work on closing the hole wink.gif

Alice in wonderland,
a great story to tell,
thinking we are all gullible,
This seeks to tell the narrator over TX....

Also one of our forum members nitramb released a much better 14717/14719 python script than the one released by those Italian guys. Again, none of this is required for the J-Runner app.

So now M$ can close two holes and not only one.....VERY SMART VERY SMART LOLOLOLOL

Your quote has nothing to do with TX, it's from Nitram, not TX... and the italians didn't create the patch themselves etheir, all they did was grab patches from xeBuild and put it in the build.py script...

1) tx website haven't posted italian patch, why later they posted nitram patch? because looks better coded but works at same time?
2)everyone can understand that:
-or the hack is the same so nitram copied the italian hack, rewritten like at school in good copy
-or works different, so he gaved M$ more info for future patching and TX helped publishing it?

I think  everyone can think on his head and get an idea
