iXiso works brilliantly - love it.

Was wondering if there was anyone who knows how to get iso2god working on mac? I can get the programme to work using WinOnX but when I load an iso it cannot extract / find game id and terminates. Has anyone had any success with this? I'd like to sort out the ability to load into the contents folder properly rather than placing the extracted iso on FSD.

Just wondering if this'll work on Mountain Lion (and 64bit?)

I just stumbled across X360 ISO Hacker which seems to be working for extracting, but I do like the idea of the drag and drop functionality smile.gif

Kickass released a Mac app based on exiso:
Quote

iXiso is a nifty little OSX frontend for in's extract-xiso tool. Its actually pure applescript (+ a lil bash hacking).
I started to mess with Xcode, but soon found it to be cumbersome.

What it does:
This little fella will extract a given Xbox 360 xiso file to a given folder.
It was initially designed to function as a droplet:
   ▪   just drop an .iso file on the app and it will ask you for a folder to extract to.
If no file is dropped on the app, it will ask you for an .iso file.

Why for god's sake?
I wanted to get xiso extraction done on my mac with as few clicks as possible.
I wrote this because i thought it might come in handy.
If you dont like it - dont use it.

Go for it. As always, some will prefer one over the other, but there may be features in yours missing from the other (or vice versa) which will help development of both.

I'm actually willing to invest some time in making an all-in-one solution for fellow OSX users, a xiso-iso2god-contentmanager hybrid that takes an ISO, removes padding, packages it and sends it to the console via FTP.
I haven't done a lot of digging and I don't know if the information I need is available, e.g. the GOD container format specifications, ISO rebuilding process, etc. If anyone can give me links to point me in the right direction it will be greatly appreciated.

@dirtee - I'm waaay too busy to code this stuff from scratch, and I can't seem to find the info I need readily available...

But I did manage to get 360 Content Manager and ISO2GOD (the tools I use) running under OSX via Wine. Here's a tease:

I'll package it for release in a couple of days, maybe you'll give it a try and see if it works for you too.

Cheers.

since xbox-scene ppl refuse to reset my original account (kickass) i need to reply using this account.

first of all: thanks for using ixiso. i hope it serves you well.

@supernes: i was facing the exact same problem. didnt find vital info on xbox game formats etc. cant really do anything worthwhile without that info. you could address the authors of iso2god etc. directly, but i dunno if they will share with you.
besides that, you might learn a lot from in's extract-xiso code.

ixiso reliably does what i wanted: extract em files, so i can mod em and put em on my box.
god is nice, but has serious disadvantages moddingwise.
since i dont need it, i guess i wont upgrade ixiso for a while smile.gif

Thanks Kickass! This is an awesome little application. I love that it automatically skips the system update folder.

Not important, but do you plan adding an option to queue iso's? That's the only feature I'm missing.

Thanks again!
