freeBOOT ToolBox Maker v2.9.1
Posted by XanTium | December 15 19:42 EST | News Category: Xbox360

BestPig released a new version of freeBOOT ToolBox - a tool that allows to create and customize a JTAG/RGH image.

What's new/fixed:
* Support for the 14699 kernel thanks to xeBuild.
* Added Dashlaunch 2.27 patches.
* Updated build.py to v1.1 (now compatible with falcons)
* Added support for CB 5771 and 6751
* fcrt.bin is now injected in freeBOOT (if u own a 1175 drive, you really need ur original NAND to extract your fcrt.bin)
* Added support for consoles without DVD drive (JTAG only) (v2.9.1)
* The patch for fcrt.bin is automatically added if the fcrt.bin isn't available in the given NAND.

Official Site: http://www.bestpig.fr (the interface is also available in English)

I updated my jtag to 14699 using  freeBOOT ToolBox Maker v2.9 and i have no DVD-Drive & my xbox plays just fine... what "support for consoles without DVD drive" means in this case?

let me guess your pin 4x6 jumpered on the dvd connector. I'm setup this way. I think when you check off the no dvd drive option you do not need the jumper. On a side note I selected the no dvd drive option and I was unable to reapply the official update for avatars (not sure if this was a coincident.) reflashed all was well

I have a jtag 512MB bb jasper, i went to create my freeboot but i didn't see any option to select the alternate wiring, i soldered it using the transitors, i thought for that you had to specify a different smc right?
i used another tool before which i forget and it had the option to specify different smc, does freeboot detect that automatically? i gave it my original nand though so there shouldn't be a way for it to know.

so is Dashlaunch selected as default preinstalled with this version?  Can't see any way to deselect it if want to manually install DL later

You can always install it and manually reinstall it again later.

hi guys,

I have strange problems trying to update to 14699 and i'm getting real desperate here...

basics: jtag jasper16 with currently 13599 kernel and dashlaunch 2.27 installed, all running fine.

so i wanted to ugrade to metro dash (14699) and built an image using freeBOOT ToolBox Maker v2.9.1

when i flashed the image by xell, the console always freezes at the xbox logo. still i was able to fire up xell(ous). so i reverted back to 13599 via xell works fine.

any ideas?

greetings
