Xbox Backup Creator v2.9 Build 0345 *Updated*
« Reply #30 on: October 04, 2011, 09:33:00 PM »

Install problems.

I tried to run or install xbc 2.9 but i get a error wondering if anybody else has this same problem.

I get error     Run-time error '339':

component 'MSCOMCTL.OCX' or one of its dependencies not correctly registered: a file is missing or invalid

I do not have a 800 drive on my computer yet.  have to get a benq drive.  Thought I would take a look at it and see what is different.

Im stealing this post from someone, I don't remember who.  <Thanks Someone>  smile.gif

If your getting an error in windows 7 (or other os) with mscomctl.ocx which is stopping backup creator from running then try this

Get the mscomctl.ocx whether zip/rar form or whatever, extract to( C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM directory. ) LEFT CLICK ON "Command Prompt" and choose "RUN AS ADMINISTRATOR"
this is important, RUN AS ADMINISTRATOR ok got that good, then use "CD C:\Windows\system"
NOT \system32
Then "regsvr32 mscomctl.ocx"

Running XBC on 64-bit windows 7 its different again you need to put MSCOMCTL.OCX into C:\Windows\SysWOW64 folder.
Run command prompt as Administrator and ether type or copy and paste this in >>> Regsvr32 c:\windows\SysWOW64\MSCOMCTL.OCX if anyone needs it > Here.

Any ideas why I get the below error? I have the latest IMGBURN which shouldn't give errors?

Do I need to change the layerbreak in the .DVD file?

IPB Image

Any ideas? Trying to burn a backup of GoW3 that I created myself.

Cheers,

Hi Redline,

Thanks very much for your reply, I followed the tutorial to rip the game listed here:

http://team-xecuter....ead.php?t=61646

Then for burning the game I followed this:

http://nickthegr33k.eu/XGD3burn.pdf

after clicking Write until end of disc (Truncate) I get the error I posted above, unsure what i'm doing wrong.

Mmm thx, actually is no the disc itself, i flashed a Benq right now and it passed the 50% barrier, is actually in 89%. So Xbc is working fine, the disc if fine, the computer is fine then is something with the Liteon drive biggrin.gif, i will reflash it to test it again.

Thx for replying

He's not kidding about dirt. I was trying for ages to to do GOW3, it kept throwing errors about wanting to fill zero's. I checked the disk heaps of times and it look fine until I had another look and found the most tinniest smudge. I thought nah its still going to error on me. Tried it again and not one fault  blink.gif

Imagine if these were Blue Ray...

Redline99,

Any chance for an updated standalone Xbox Image Browser?

Reason I ask is I've always been fond of the standalone XIB but naturally it doesn't support XD3.
I notice that the XIB in the new XBC extracts faster than the standalone version.

Problems with the integrated version:
1. On Windows 7 the taskbar item for the XBC integrated Image Browser sometimes disappears from the taskbar.
2. XBC is single instance which means it is only possible to have the integrated Image Browser running once.

Thanks again for your efforts.

Hey Guys,

Are backups of Xbox1 games still supported? When i try to backup one on my Lite-on with 0800 v3 firmware it get the following;

Starting read process...
Target Xbox version = Xbox One
Space Available on Drive E:\ 782 GB (839,744,458,752 bytes)
Creating SplitVid backup image [G]
   Reading Volume Descriptor
Application Error in: CreateBurnReadyISO_SplitVid
   13 Type mismatch
Getting media info [G]
   Media Type: DVD-ROM
Bytes Used: 6.54 GB (7,027,228,672 bytes)
   Read failed

Any ideas?

Thanks

I have the same problem uncledrax. If you find a solution, let a brutha know smile.gif For now, I'm unable to back up Xbox 1 games. Not a huge deal, but a bummer for sure.
