CMD Freebooter v1.2.3
Posted by XanTium | August 22 02:23 EST | News Category: Xbox360

From the NFO/ReadMe:
Quote

Overview - What it does
* It will create a Freeboot image with your given options, it uses ibuild and fbbuild to do this, so it doesn't really have the functions itself, it's more like a script then an actual program.
* You can set presets of various options within the program, this way if you do alot of machines that are similar you don't have to choose everything over and over, however you still need to restart the program after it completes building your nand.
* You may enable or disable logging if you like, you can choose output filename yourself or use the preset one (freeBOOT.bin)
* It'll if you want it to download the appropiate systemupdate for your version of rebooter (the downloads come from logic-sunrise)
* It'll read the file "cpukey.txt" and if it contains a cpukey this will be checked for typo's and if it passed it'll be used as your cpukey ;)

What's new/fixed:
* Added: Multilingual support
* Added: Translations into: French and Swedish
* Added: A template with instructions for translators ;)
* Added: Option in config.ini for language called lang, change this to your language and it'll load that file, if it doesn't exist it'll use hardcoded english ;)
* Added: CB reading support with suggestion of what mobo you should choose
* Fixed: Fatal bug with version 1.2.2 causing random E13/0031 errors on Xenons due to wrong SMC version

I don't see how this is needed with EasyFreeboot and Bestpig out there. Is there something else this has (other than a dash update downloader) that makes it unique/special?

As a matter of fact yes; it is CMD style, which means it doesn't have a fancy gui that requires you to press buttons and shit, and it includes dashlaunch at build time, it's also more stable then EFB if you ask me, but hell i'm the developer behind it so i can say mine is better then his just like that, try it out and you'll see that it works like a charm...

Also, for those who do ALOT of updates you can set settings ahead that will be used, for example you can choose not to have dashlaunch included, and you can choose what SMC that should be used ahead of time, which speeds up the process if doing more then one machine...

There will be more features laters, as i get the time to add it and test it... i'm still in the early stages of learning C#, so it's not flawless, it can be optimized by alot, but i don't feel that it makes much of a difference...

Awesome! I didn't know you could include dashlaunch at build time (I've been set in my ways, so I just take the extra steps), I will definitely be playing around with this. Thanks, Swizzy.

You have to manually extract and rename the files from the installer, but it's quite easy tbh (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

There are some functions written in the readme that will come, and there are more functions waiting (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

I really hope ppl will like it, so far i've only had good response about it, no complaints from ppl that have tested it, and so far no bug reports etheir, other then those from my beta testers/friends (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

who in this century doesnt want a GUI?

i think jtag tool does all of this already pretty much, you can download any dash with it as well

but hey more stuff for jtag the better, and i would have to agree that sometimes cmd stuff is more stable than gui so keep up the great work
