Easy FreeBoot v5.31
Posted by XanTium | July 24 02:20 EST | News Category: Xbox360

Sneakypeanut released a new version of his Easy freeBOOT - an application which will automate the creation of a freeBOOT image for JTAG-able consoles based on the original NAND image.

What's new/fixed:
* added in 13599
* gui rearange (fucking gomson and his drop box)
* fixed xellous images
* fixed smc shizz
* added nand compair
* fixed standard smc error

Things todo:
* Save to usb (not really needed but would be interesting to try)
* Auto updater

Official Site: n/a, by Sneakypeanut
Download: n/a (might be illegal under DCMA/EUCD)

hi everyone,
can I update directly from 12625 to 13599?

or do I have to update to 13146 first?

and is there anything you should advice me about the SMC thing,cuz I have seen most of the people are having problems due to SMC errors.

Thanks in advance

Not sure about the SMC, but you can update directly to 13599 because the tool makes a 13599 NAND image to flash your console with. I'm getting ready to update my JTAG with this after I update Dash Launch.

You should apply dashlaunch, AFTER you flash your new nand.

check the to-be-flashed image with this:

http://www.megaupload.com/?d=34L4XNXK

smc-comparison-tool --image1=flashdmp.bin --image2=updflash.bin

the first being a dump from your system (by way of xellous httpd or flash360) and the second is the created image by any tool.

if it says "SMC mismatch", don't use the new image.  it'll also spit out details about where TMS & TDI signals are in each image.

Sounds great but when I run it in win7 64bit it flashes up but disappears before get the chance to read it.
Used this to update and all is well apart from not being able to load Xellous any more.  I read somewhere it is no longer at the beginning of the nand so will have to check that out as xellous is a fantastic feature to have!

I ended up with a dead zephyr using this tool. Updated from a freeboot 9XXX whatever dash FB image made with doror files that was working fine. Flashed with this update and it WAS working until I unplugged it to flash a Falcon. When I plugged it back in completely dead, no NAND detect. Going to have to short it and try to get it detected.

EDIT: Ahh crap I meant for V5.32!

updated, allows editing of SMC's TMS & TDI entry points:
http://www.megaupload.com/?d=223XNYPT

CODE

smc-comparison-tool v0.2
-----------------
thank you, scene.
-----------------
usage: smc-comparison-tool
     : --image1=[nand image 1]
     : --image2=[nand image 2]

. compares the SMCs between two images if both above are provided
. lists the SMC details of a single image if only one is provided
. allows changes to be made to either SMC
