Question:

I was on the last major fbuild 0.11, I believe. It was the first kinect db. Anyways, I created a flash and updated with "keep current kv config" on flash360.

After a reboot, I got E52 or black screen. So I decided after some reading to do

nandpro oldnand.bin: -r16 key.bin 1 1
nandpro lpt: -w16 key.bin 1 1

and my box booted up. However, now the problem is that my internal HDD is not recognized, so I can't do anything. I have no DVD installed and wondered if that could be the problem since 13146 flashed stock drive?

I am not sure how to proceed. If not, I will flash my old dash back using lpt or flash xell and then use USB flash.

Any ideas or experience with that particular issue?

Thanks

What's your source for that statement?  I see some chatter about corrupting hacked/modded profiles, but that is a very different matter.

Im suprised no one cares about this. Im still on 12611 for this reason. Has a tool been made to fix your profile as i would like to be able to go online when on a non j-tag box?

So I believe I have XBR2 and Xellous on my box.  I haven't been paying attention to the xbox 360 scene for a while so I have a few questions.  I would definitely like to update to a new dash and get freeboot.  I know in the past that freeboot only worked if you had a second nand.  I watched the video tutorial for this and it appears that you can update your box with only a stock nand.  If I follow the example here will I be able to update without any problems?  Also I have bad blocks on this xbox.  With the freeboot toolbox take care of that for me?

Thanks

As Long as U have ur ORIGINAL KeyVault and ur CPU key (can get that from Xell) you should be fine, if u dont have ur original KV then you may stil be able to update to the initial kinect dash. (I don't know if this new rebooter allows KV swapping without consequences- I wouldn't advise it under any circumstance regardless) U dont need a 2nd NAND, haven't needed one for sometime now BTW I haven't looked at that video, but there are plenty of tut's around, u just need to search/digg away untill u find the one that suits ur situation. If ur using ur original KV then u shud be able to use pretty much any tut (including ones for the previous dash, and just apply it to this dash) Make sure u get it right though, if u have no way of re-programing the NAND with the Xbox turned-off incase something goes awry)

Hope this Helps/Dan

So where do we stand regarding drives/spoofing? Is that now a no no or is that "removed unimportant stuff"?

I'm waiting to get my JTAG back from a reball...

But do I need to install the 13146 update after running the Freeboot update if I've already got 12625 on my box? I noticed someone mentioned avatar and kinect support, which I've already got so wondering if it's needed or not.

so I am assuming that this now supports cygnos v2 and makes a compatible nand for it.  I know it supports the wiring but I am a newb and I just need reassurance before I go ahead.

I too would like to know about the ms update part.  So I just go and download the actual ms update from MS? and after I have updated with EasyFB I just do the actual update from MS and it will ONLY install Avatar and Kinnect support?  Is that right?  I dont want to accidentally update my JTAG to a Non JTAG.

Yep, that's all there is to it.   I know.. it sounds dangerous!  I too was skeptical the first time doing this, for fear that I'd kill my jtag.   But it works... once you have your custom 13146 image flashed on your jtag, then you go and do the official M$ update via a usb stick, it'll "fill in" whatever is missing, namely avatar and kinect support.  The update will see that the kernel version is already 13146 so it won't attempt to update that.

Anyone else having freezing issues while playing games after updating to the newest dash and using dash launch 2.22?  I am using a Falcon with some bad blocks if that means anything.
