JungleFlasher v0.1.84 (250)
« Reply #15 on: June 15, 2011, 05:17:00 AM »

Just to say worked a treat on my phat liteon.

1) reflashed with stock FW
2) updated.
3) reflashed with 1.9
4) All fine.. can connect to live etc etc, secdata still clean

Took 10 mins (bar the update), had to reboot the pc three times smile.gif

Thanks for all the effort.

Can I still use DOS flash to flash 1.9, as I have no end of issue with Jungleflasher in Windows.

Thanks

The difference between the two is 1.9 will let us play online with new dash update WITHOUT new disc format for now... 2.0 (when released) will let us play our backups of upcoming games that will contain the new disc format.

Hope this helps...  cool.gif

Can't believe people still want to flash and be able to play "backups" online, but worry about getting banned. If you flash, you run the risk of getting banned. It has been stated hundreds of times.... When the update came, I simply played ONLINE with originals on my non-modded system...didn't have a pressing rush for 1.9/2.0.

I agree with you there, but who cares, it's their problem.

Don't talk about stuff you know jack sh*t about

Well, I do know that the serial is not copied. If you do not get that, that´s your prob.

MS made this new 0251 firmware,

I am not talking about the FW. I am talking about JF.

and removed all barcode and serial info from it.

Totally wrong. The 025 FW includes a serial and a barcode data.
The question is: Is it correct that M$ overwrites the drives
date with  universal one? I doubt that.

Well, I redumped my liteon via mra after the update last night. When I spoofed source(full new ofw) to the target (liteon lt1.9). JF said serial data not copied - already matches.  This means the serial data is now the same on all fat liteons. You will only need the drive key.

I for one dont know WHAT M$ does.... I have neither the tools nor the expertise to even find out.... I DO KNOW however that C4E and the whole Jungle Team put ALOT of time AND effort into these CFWs and the testing as I understand is furious.... that being said I dont think they would overlook something like the barcode and serial info.... if the new OFW inserts a "universal" 025 FW then Im sure thats why LT+ 1.9 also has this....I COULD be wrong but I also understand the risks involved and accept them....

I can also confirm that I did 6 consoles of varying drives (4 LiteOns and 2 BenQs) last night and used various methods... Updated first then reflashed.... flashed first then updated.... used Jungle Flasher as well as DOSFLASH and all have been sucessful thus far.....  however you ABSOLUTELY MUST HAVE YOUR DVD KEY.... So the absolute BEST and safest method would be to re-read your current FW and save the Drive Key FIRST and FOREMOST.... once you are sure you have the correct key then go ahead and flash to stock first then update console then flash LT+ 1.9....  I have a LiteOn test drive that I use in place of ANY LiteOn drive as they are so sensitive.... I actually bricked one the first time around last night in windows so I HAD to use DOSFLASH to flash 1.9 and it worked like a charm

Of course, any 360 drive can play any orginals, including xgd3.  And when LT 2.0 comes out it will play xgd3 backups.   Samsung drives can't respond to AP 2.5 challenges.  In that regard, they are blessed.  For samsung owners, you don't need to reburn your games every time MS updates the challenges.

Out of curiosity, can the traditional dvdkey method of reading the key from phat liteons (solder serial db9 with max 3232 chip) still be accomplished AFTER the drive has been flashed with the new OFW?

This is also my question. Can you take an old fat liteon, never flash it.... update it then retrieve the key and flash it with the latest firmware?

Thanks for the hard work everyone.
