Should we update our 360s to the latest Xbox 360 OTA update or should we flash our drives first then update?

Guys, JF has a bug with the drive serial info. It can't extract correctly from the 0251 and if you have your dummy/OFW, it can't spoof the drive serial information.

Firmware Osig: [PLDS DG-16D2S 0251]
Firmware is: LT-Plus 1.9
Spoofing Target
DVD Key copied to target
Target is LT - ID strings not copied to Target

JF 1.83 extracts correctly and can spoof information correctly.

That´s a good question.
Especially regarding the fact that the serial number of the source drive is not copied over to the target drive. So all drives that use this 025 firmware will have the same serial: Easy way for M$ to check and detect. I see the next ban wave coming...

Flash back to stock, make the update, and then flash to LT+1.9.

So do we need to update then redump the drive to get calibration and serial data that can be copied to the 1.9 firmware? Or is it really a bug and we should be able to use the original stock firmware that the drive came with?

Flash back to stock, make the update, and then flash to LT+1.9.

Do you have a reputable source for that suggestion?  Not being mean just curious.

Don't talk about stuff you know jack sh*t about

MS made this new 0251 firmware, and removed all barcode and serial info from it.
so LT 1.9  acts the same way.
There's no 7, 8 or 9xxx lite-on anymore, all are 02510c now and all have the same barcode and serial data

It's recommended to redump (for lite-on only PMT/probe3 or MRA works now) but if you still use your old dummy that barcode and serial info is NOT copied to the new 0251 based 1.9 firmware  (as it's not in the stock 0251 also anymore)

edit:

it's recommended to flash back to stock before updating, and redump after update
If you don't have the tools or you're lazy you can choose not to and risk it, that's up to you!!
There are no signs of stuff logged during the update as far as i know, but MS also never flashed drives with an update before too!
