flash your firmware. backups don't boot on unmodded consoles (which is what you have after that update)

I haven't done it with this version of JG yet (0.1.81, I think).  But you MUST have a backup of your original key info, preferably the original stock dump (OFW.bin or whatever).  Flash back to stock using that OFW.bin file, cycle the drive, and then reflash with LT+ 1.1.  If you don't first flash to stock, it won't work; I think this has something to do with the memory location of the firmware, but not sure - I didn't read everything before I did it, just trial and error, lol.

I've only done this on Benq drives so far, so I'm not sure how it works on others.  Also Do NOT go on Live until LT+ 2.0 release (I don't know what will happen if you do, but that's the word going around).  I don't know if anyone knows for sure if doing this will flag the 360 for ban, so do it at you own peril :).  Good Luck.

I wonder why Winbond chips always cause so much trouble.

Because anything that starts with "Win" is shit, lol.

I meant slim 0225 and the Jungleflasher docs say read only for the 0225 right now so there's my answer!

I'd like to know the answer to this one as well.  The tutorial says as of the time of writing the tut that it only supports read, but I show a file creation date of 4-12-2011, which was a while ago.  Is there anyone "in the know" who can answer definitively whether or not JF can now unlock the 0225?

I'm not trying to be impatient, just I have a real good offer to purchase a slim with 0225 for cheap and would like to know if I'm going to be waiting until LT 2.0 release - hopefully soon smile.gif, or a week, a month?  I have to trade in my 3 year old console to be able to afford this thing, and I'd rather not wait a month or more to get my game on smile.gif.  The only thing I know is that C4E said that unlock method will be release soon, which means he already knows how to do it, so is it in this version of JF?

Unlocking 0225 will be hardware related.
(unless someone finds a way of disabling MS' kill command)

0225 can be slimkey'd, nothing else (yet) - There are exploits being tested, and these will be available to the public in the not to distant future.

Hey,

I have read that the key location is changed in the phat liteon 74's with the new update. I already have the key for the drive backed up, so getting the key is not an issue. In the past I have always used IPrep to flash my drives, as my PC has always had freezing issues with JF. Now my question is, because the key location has changed in the phat 74 drives, does JF have a new flashing procedure to put the key in the new place, or is that done when inserting the key into the firmware and it doesnt matter how you flash the drive?

Basically, can I still use Iprep to flash my drive or does it HAVE to be done by JF because of the new key location thing? (Remember I dont need to dump the key from the drive, I only need to erase and flash LT 2.0 with my key inserted)

I hope this makes sense

Thanks

Chris

The key location hasnt changed.

However, you do not have a good, safe, solid fw to write back.

That is incorrect, of course it changed. That is part of the reason for this release.

Source: The front page

* The key location on phat models is now in a different area, so a new JF will be released to accommodate this change which was already anticipated in advance.

@Cjc1706: You will have to wait for an update from iPrep, if they even still make them. If you are having issues with JF freezing, try removing the drivers from your SATA card if you are using one. Its indicated in the tutorial.

Dragon45801: sorry man, you will need to wait for team maximus to figure out how Jungleflasher implemented all these updates to support all this stuff for the 0225/0401 and other issues along with the new firmware revisions that were sent down.  once they figure it out how JF did it, they will have a new firmware.

But you might be waiting sometime, might as well grab an x360usbpro or something else so you know your hardware works with the scene supported JungleFlasher software.   Since JF team seems to be ones coming out first with solutions and support for the scene.

and of course, Congrats JF team on the new update support and furthering the 0225/0401 support!

Foundmy.com

LOL, what an idiot, max had it all reading and dumping before JF published theres, dont be a rock. (except 0225/0401 of course)

max jsut choose not to publically release something that might get users banned, all the beta testers have been dumping and had keys a few days after beta dash was released.

foundmy what a troll

Has anyone tried with Maximus Lizard? My lizard has newest fw and I am using the newest Lizard toolbox. Not having any luck with reading.

geko 112 has not seen the public release because i assume team maximus (like team jungle) does not support reflashing after ofw update. If 112 was public, it would be an endorsemnt for doing what is probably the worst thing you could do to your xbox right now short of throwing it off the roof of your house. The only logical reason I can see for releasing jf 1.83, considering C4E/tj/tx history of delaying releases for months because they will not release something that isn't "secure", is that LT,LT+,LT+1.1 was never secure in the first place.
Don't listen to what people say, watch what they do. Because thats who they are.

Hey guys seeing as this new JF supports the new OFW does anyone know where to get hold of the new OFW for a benq.

My problem is that i have a benq spoofed as a 93450c and i could not get the update, my drive has died but apparently they can be revived, my plan is to write the new benq ofw to the drive spoofed as 93450c to see if that works so i can get the update and back on live.

you have to put a liteon 9xxxx back in it, not a benq, you must have what ever drive original came with the console

Reasons for releasing 0.1.83(241) are clearly listed in the release notes, in post 1 of this thread and in the front page news article.
The release is only to provide support for new stock f/w's and changes there in. It has no new features for an existing or future LT or LT+ release.

I guess if LT and LT plus were detectable then MS would have banned users as opposed to investing millions in a new disc format.

I just got the new JF...great work by the way...had an 83850c v1 liteon drive a client of mines went to update and it re-written the firmware over, did the MRA hack to read the entire firmware, manually rebuilt the firmware with the key and what not flashed it back in, resolder traces and powered the drive up, tested a backup and boots awesome....great work guys...thought his xbox was a goner from there... biggrin.gif

What you need to do is use dos flash in dos (boot using a floppy) to recover the drive from the failed update. Then once you do install the Benq's stock firmware (found online) then what you need to do next is put your key into the file, but don't spoof the drive. You only want the key. If your using jungle flasher to put the key on the file make sure you use the manual setting if you click the spoof button it will auto spoof it for the lite on drive. You want this drive to read as a benq not a lite on. Once installed with your key put it back in your xbox then update again. This time it will work 100%. Then after the update you can play any game you want without the spoof to a lite on. Its up to you if you want to re-install lite plus. Then you can decide to respoof the drive to a lite on or keep it as a benq. I kept mine as a benq.

Microsoft changed the requirement to have the osid match the onboard and, So now swapping drives only requires the key and instead of a key and a spoof. This was changed two updates ago, but no one is 100% sure about how safe this is. I've used a spoof drive for years and never had any issues, but its up to you. I figured microsoft changed the rule to allow users to fix the xbox's (or shops) them selves since the xbox is cheaper now. Microsoft also refurbished a lot of consoles and maybe they decided to swap more secure drives into them and removed the requirement because of the cost to reprograming the nand on them all. Or the cost to reproduce outdated drives.
