e-Tool v0.2
Posted by XanTium | May 14 13:34 EST | News Category: Xbox360

Electon^- released e-Tool v0.2, a new tool for extracting/injecting the key from Liteon FAT drives flashed with a new FW by the Beta Dash:
Quote

Each of you probably know that with the new dashboard beta, readers are re-flashed with a firmware Stock, and in this way, you can not read your backups.

For this reason, many of you, you will come across the following problem:
13142 after installing the update, if you re-flash fw on another player, you can not upgrade to version 13145, because the console that controls the fw on the same player is flashed from the previous update.

Trying to extract the FW from your player, you probably will have noticed that Jungle Flasher, does not recognize the new FW.

So now, how do you resolve this situation?

I created two programs that deal specifically, EXTRACT the key from the new Fw, Fw or Spoof a New Original Firmware if you already have the key formats. Bin (even that of jungle flasher is fine).

There are 2 Archive, one for Unix user, and one for Windows User.

We won't be updating anything to support the beta firmwares.

We'll wait until the dashboard is released on May 19th before working on support, on the firmware(s) used in the public release.

Yeah, nice to know it can be done easily enough. Admit I haven't been following too closely.

I thought the dashboard update that was going to enabled MS to flash the drives was going to be released in the fall update not this spring update.

That's what I thought too but I guess we were both wrong.

Sounds cool and all that  and quick and im sure theres going to be workarounds for all these new security measures,i personally think M$ expects this,as long as they can start detcting backups easier again which of course they will do,at least for the forseeable.I think LTPlus kicked butt and they just need something new to get the backups noticed (imo) online and having to shrink/remove packing data etc etc will obviously hinder "stealth".
I cannot help but feel, that given the injection of such measures,so late in a consoles life that this is some kind of next gen research/test etc and certainly as far as piracy on 360 is concerned the long term damage is 5 years done already, right?
