Xboxburner 1.0
« on: April 04, 2011, 04:56:00 AM »

Hi all,

I developed a GUI for growisofs. XBoxBurner burns XBox and XBox360 game images. It runs under Linux, Windows and MacOSX! Current version is: 1.0

Screenshot (Linux version / Ubuntu 10.10 / GNOME ):

(IMG:http://img821.imageshack.us/img821/8186/xboxburner.png)

Download here: XBoxBurner 1.0 - Linux

XBoxBurner needs the following to run:
- Qt library (4.7 are urgently recommended!)
- growisofs (part of the dvd+rw-tools)

Windows and MacOSX versions are in preparation! I hope, this little app will help you!

Please write me your opinions! New ideas, suggestions, improvements, criticism and other feedback are welcome!

Thx!
Chris

I really like the orange in the application. Something that would make this application "stand out" among the others is to add a button between the "open" and "check" buttons, and label it "ABGX Check and Patch."  The button of course would run the ABGX checks and patch accordingly. Just a suggestion, thanks for the work.

I really could have used this a few months ago. For some reason an update to Ubuntu caused ImgBurn to write corrupted 360 discs.  BTW, Aubrey, the Orange is simply a trait of the default theme for Gnome Desktop under Ubuntu, not that I disagree. It would probably look rather different were it KDE, Mac or Windows.

What does RBU / UBU stand for? I take it those are the buffers?

Yes, both are buffers!

UBU = Unit Buffer Utilization
RBU = Ring Buffer Utilization (or circular buffer)

For more details look at wikipedia article of dvd+rw-tools!

Great looking GUI. I thought about making something similar a while back but got too lazy.  smile.gif  If anyone is interested in the command to burn Xbox 360 images, here's what I was using.

CODE
growisofs -use-the-force-luke=dao -use-the-force-luke=break:1913760 -dvd-compat -speed=2 -Z /dev/sr0=image.iso

Any advantage of this over ImgBurn on windows?

Or is this just for you linux and MAC people?

It does look great and I am tempted to try it, but the ol' adage "Don't fix it if it ain't broken" is drawing me back!

neat looking app, wouldn't mine trying the osx version when its avaliable.

are you just leaving this as a burning app? or will it be updated for ripping retail disks too?
ripping is the one thing i cant find a native osx app for.
