Of course I don't support taking JTAGs online or hosting modded lobbies and I've never done either, but I'm a little surprised that no one has mentioned the obvious.

12611 and 12625 are not the same number or dashboard version. I think it's interesting how the new dash is ...25 as in AP25 which they have added for the biggest games on Live. I caught that as soon as I updated my slim. And there are still the morons that update before checking on it and wonder why they can't play their CoD backups on Live. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif)

Ohhhh my bad, I haven't played on LIVE in almost a year so I wasn't aware of the newer dash version. Still though, where there's money to be made, CoD and Halo rank hackers will go.. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sad.gif)

I just upgraded my HDD shortly after this updating with this. As usual, when you put in a new HDD all the Avatar stuff is missing.

Normally I'd download the update from Microsoft, but with that version now being 12625 I'm staying well clear.

Luckily, I had a backup of the 12611 Update so alls fine. But a reason why not being on the latest dash version may cause some people problems.

I have bridged by RT63 but I'd rather not put it to the test.

I think you may be missing the point that the reason there's no money to be made is because keyvaults are essentially useless. How can you host anything if you can't get on live. You can't. Anyway, I think COD lobbies are corny (don't see the fun in jumping 50 feet in the air, being invincible, or having auto aim). All this modding talk is bound to get this thread locked anyway, so you may as well move on. But as I already said and others have said, because of the new update, it's a moot point anyway.

basically to sum this up for people who have no idea what its all on about,
This is ONLY usefull for 2 kinds of people,

1 If you bought your jtag to find it was using a swapped KV/ or lost your original KV

2. If you can find someone who wants to buy your original KV if you have no intention of going on live

but even the second option is kinda pointless because you could still use ur original and sell it aslong as you arnt going on live and also the hackers who can go on live arnt releasing their methods so they can make sure they can charge big bux for their lobbies, or as they claim so it dosnt get fixed, and finally the latest dash isnt released for jtags atm so even if you get kiddies who dont have a clue and will buy the KV without any clue about these facts theres also a ton of people selling already banned KV's to these kids so it will be hard to even find an idiot who will get the KV banned anyway just to be told to update their console

so to sum it up basically its only really useful for people using a donor KV who want the latest dash or have kinect with no way of playing atm because they cant update to kinect dash

Can anyone tell me if you can use this to update the 12611 freeboot from an 8955 dump without the original nand? I have read in some places that you must use the older version first to update the image to 9199 then use the newer version to update the image to 12611, then flash the image.  But all of the threads I read about it seem to end with people saying NVM I got it fixed, but never posting how.  I need to update a falcon to 12611, but all I have is the flashdmp.bin from Flash360, I also need to update another falcon to 12611 from 9199 and also have only the flashdmp.bin from Flash360.  Just wondering if there is an updated and easier way to accomplish this without having to use old tuts about donor files and ibuild command line etc.  Any tips would be appreciated, been googling for hours

Even though this is an old post, I will answer it just in case you ever come back to see it.

To update from the 8955 or 9199 kernel, you can just put your CPU key and NAND dump of that kernel into this program and create a 12611 NAND to flash to your Xbox. You don't have to update from 8955 to 9199 to 12611. You can go straight from 8955 to 12611. This will accept any type of NAND. Just make sure that if you don't have your original KV that you use the hash check button.
