Uncorrupting Xbox 360 Gamesaves
« on: December 26, 2010, 07:07:00 PM »

i bought a banned xbox 360 a while back, and it died last week. when i bought it, it had 2 profiles already on the hard drive. i made my own profile and earned some achievements, and had all my save data there. i bought a 360 slim to replace the dead xbox and i wanted to transfer my profile. i followed the guide to uncorrupt a xbox profile, and i transferred my old profile to my slim's hard drive.

so i when i turned the new xbox on, i can see my profile, and gamerscore, but i cant view any of the recently played games or individual achievements. and when i click my profile, like to view things about my profile, the gamerscore shows 0, and when i browse through the games i've played i just see the name of the game at the top, and a blank where the achivements should be. then when i launch a game everything, including my avatar, resets.

then i tried uncorrupting one of the profiles that was already on the dead xbox. to my surprise it actually worked. i can view the recently played games, and i can view the achievements. the gamerscore doesnt reset after a game, its like a regular normal profile.

how can i fix my profile? i dont want to lose all those achievements and the gamesaves on it.

Uncorrupting Xbox 360 Gamesaves

okay,
this was my exact process.
i launched horizon, and then i transferred my profile file first. i clicked save, rehash, and resign, and horizon completed it successfully. then, i repeated this for each gamesave that i had. then i transferred it to my hard drive using modio beta.

on my 360, i can open my profile, but i still can't view any individual achievements per game, nor can i see the save data. i even tried booting a game, and signing into my profile, and it asked it to complete the campaign, something i had already done.

then when i go to settings->memory on the dashboard and click gamer profiles, mine shows as corrupted. a couple of times i had seen it as my profile name, but still i couldnt access game saves. this time, after rehashing it came as corrupted again.

is there anything i did wrong?

btw, i kept the .bak backup files that were created when i rehashed the files, and also transferred them onto the hard drive, if that has anything to do with this.
