When i execute chatpad_control_i386.exe it runs but it closes so fast that I am not able to copy anything. If you have better instructions on how to obtain the text let me know and I will try and help you. Anyhow, I managed to obtain a screen shot of it running. BTW, the chatpad does light up while I click and run chatpad_control_i386.exe.
That looks exactly as it should be...I'm not sure why it's quitting. Can you use the Start Menu, Run option, and then type "cmd.exe"? Then type "cd c:\chatpad" and press enter (use whatever the proper path is to the chatpad files, instead of c:\chatpad). Then, type the name of the executable, i.e. "chatpad_control_i386.exe" and press enter.
After you let it run and wait, you should be able to see what happens when it quits.
My hopefully LAST debug-information request is, after you get a screenshot of the above steps, could you try downloading DebugView? It's a very small file, and you can get it here:
http://technet.micro...ernals/bb896647If you run Dbgview.exe and turn on all the options in the Capture menu besides "Log Boot", then you should see a bunch of text scroll by if you then run chatpad_control_i386.exe. Would you please use the File->Save As option in DebugView to save the log results, after the chatpad control utility has crashed? Hopefully this log, or the screenshot above, will give me a hint about it.

It's frustrating because it works on some 32-bit XP systems, such as my own, but apparently not on yours. I will try to figure out why, though!
Are you using an official "Made for Windows" controller, or a controller from an XBox 360 system? I can try to check if anyone has tries the normal 360 controller with Windows XP for comparison.
