I was bored today and decided I wanted to play with this on my old Dell running XP. Couldn't get it to work

. I plugged in my wired xbox 360 controller and launched chatpad_installer_i386.exe. Windows was upset about the driver not being signed so I disabled driver signing. Once the installer was launched it kept on telling me the same messages over and over like "chatpad installation was successful" or how ever it's worded. Also, when i checked Device Manager the drivers appeared 3 or 4 times. I'm not sure if that is correct or not. If someone could tell me how they got it working that would be great.
The drivers should only appear once each in Device Manager. You will get a series of message boxes (which will go away when I get a new version of the installer made), so just wait until the final one appears, which should say "The chatpad installer has finished running."
What you can do to test now is, with driver signing disabled, go to Device Manager. Then, look at this picture:
http://www.abload.de..._removepide.pngFirst right click the items in the keyboards and mice section, and uninstall each one of them manually. IMPORTANT NOTE: If you are using something like a laptop, you may have some legitimate devices. To make sure they belong with the chatpad, right click each one, look at the properties, and go to the details tab. Look at this picture:
http://www.abload.de...detailszib4.pngIf the Device Instance Id has "CHATPADKBD" or "CHATPADMOUSE" in it, then you should uninstall it. You can click the box to uninstall drivers if it shows up.
Finally, right click each of the XBox 360 Controller HID Keyboard/Mouse devices and uninstall them.
At this point, all of the devices should be gone, and you can run the original installer again. If everything succeeds, you should end up with the 4 new devices shown in my picture, and the 360 controller itself will be renamed to mention the chatpad. Sorry about how complicated this right now...the problem is that the uninstaller program I wrote is very simple and does not delete the virtual devices, so you have to delete them by hand. If you follow the steps above, it should work for you, hopefully.

Eventually this should be automatic.
