You're confusing "scene" with that shitty trend that kids nowadays follow.

Scene meaning the hobby, ie: xbox-"scene"

Everything from where software is released, down to hardware schematics, or even the people/controversies surrounding said releases, constitutes the "scene" that we're talking about here.
