Its not the compatibility files, because Xbox 1 games work fine if I pop the very same hard drive onto a 9199 created by the previous version of Bestpig Toolbox 24r3 that allowed me to swap the patches file with the xbox1 patches files (it did this by design, as an explorer window opens when you select "creating a custom freeboot").  The new version doesn't even have the xbox1 subdirectory in the bin directory when I am creating the image.

If I try to launch default.xex off of xexmenu, etc, it still crashes on the xbox logo - which is the same behavior that occured if I did not do the xbox1 patch swapping when using a freeboot made by the previous version of Bestpig Toolbox.

From my understanding the old version defaulted to a direct memory access feature, which did not allow xbox 1 compatibility - so I'm guessing its the same deal.  Maybe they haven't added that functionality yet for the new dash version but if there's a way to get xbox 1 games working, it would be good to know.

Why is there an option for Xboxes without a dvd-Drive. My old Xenon jtag box (no aud_clamp or other special wiring) doesn't have a dvd-drive and it worked perfektly with XBR3 and freeBOOT 9199.

Maybe it just eliminates the flashing light, not like we don't all know that a jumper also eliminated it.

Once again this worked perfect for me to upgrade my 256 Jasper from 9199 using Flash 360

There's a bug with this while running on Windows 7 x64. Select a 16mb original Falcon dump and try to generate a custom freeboot. Occurs with v2.5 and v2.4r3 also.

An error dialogue appears with 'Your dump has not been properly extracted'

While on an XP x86 machine, with the exact same files, it works ok.

Jasper 256mb & 512mb flash dumps are ok Win7 x64 though.

Just a heads up in case anyone comes across the same problem.

Just how big is this file? Because It's taking like 10 mins to download. And, my connection is pretty fast. The download progress bar says ist's 15 mb already. Is this program actually that big.

I actually used command line before. So, I could do that way as well.

Actually, i cannot download it. The file is corrupted when I unrar it. And, when my browser finished downloading it sait that the source file could not be read. I tried 3 times. Everytime it is either greyed out or called 'PART' file. I am using Firefox 3.5.15.

i actually need this, and it's currently not working.

i'm working on dropping a usb/sata drive inside a box -- with the explicit intent of not having a dvd drive in the unit.

16mb jasper, cygnos wiring.

fb0.04 image created with bestpig's v2.6 and no dvd is checked (or ticked, for the brits present);

if no dvd is present in the box, it will only boot to xell.  if dvd is present, it boots into dash (and into xell if booted via eject).

help/thoughts?

hey there boflc, boflc here (yep, talking to myself).

the checkbox doesn't actually do anything.  however, the bundled base .bin's are all included in fbt0.04m2.6.

CODE
1) select custom image.
2) when prompted, go into the bin folder (most likely in %tempdir%/freeBOOT/bin)
    a) delete/rename freeboot.bin
    b) rename freeboot_alt.bin to freeboot.bin
3) click ok.
4) profit.

i am assuming this is just a bug (and it's a retarded one to fix at that, b/c it's just one line of code); the checkbox isn't doing the one thing it needs to -- rename freeboot_alt.bin to freeboot.bin before doing the actual build of freeboot.

awesome program btw.

Ok guys, little help needed if you don't mind (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

I flashed my Xbox to the latest Freeboot the other week, no problems.

A mate just gave me his box to update as well. I've just dumped the NAND through Flash360, and booted Xell to get the CPU key. All good. However, when I try and create the image in Bestpig, it just stops at 38% and gives me the message "kv.bin was not decrypted properly, CPU key does not match the dump".

Not sure what's going on there exactly, unless the guy who JTAG'ed the box initially played funny buggers with a donor nand or something.

Anyway, how do I go about getting this working? I do have my NAND dump from the other week, can I somehow use that to fix up this other one?

Thanks!
