« on: November 16, 2010, 03:36:00 PM »

Hi,

The version 2.6 of Freeboot Toolbox Maker by BestPig is out.

What's new :

- Add FbBuild V0.11 support
- Add Swedish language
- Add option to use freeboot_alt.bin for xbox without drive.

I want to try this but I'm concerned of two things.  I lost my flash drive containing my original nand backup and I'm running Freeboot 9199.  Is there a way I can convert a dump of the freeboot nand to an original?  Also I'm not sure if the guy I had jtag my box soldered the alternate points instead of removing the r6t3 like I asked although from what I read its a non-issue.

You need to create a custom freeboot and go into the data folder. You then can copy the smc.bin into another folder and use blackaddr's smc_io tool to modify it to match your wiring. Copy it back and let toolbox finish.

I really wish he would just add a checkbox for the most common aud_clamp wiring. Nobody that knows what they are doing uses the standard wiring anymore.

Now what i need to figure out is how to use the "FbBuild V0.11 support"
I did one today and games with ap2.5 still would not load.
I know FbBuild V0.11 disbales ap2.5 so i am not sure what the extra steps are.

Could you explain this a bit more specific please.

I got the TMS=aud_clamp and TDI=tray_open points soldered. What have I to do exactly to get a new dashboard on the console?

Tha blackadder tool just changes the audclamp as far as I see this or is there no problem when I use my Freeboot 9199 nand with the changes in it to create a newer dashboard version?

Wouldn't have a clue which points were used for my JTAG (well I know, but whether this is the "normal" or "alternate" can't find much in the way of documentation here).
If I flash to 0.04 and it wont boot, will XeLLous still work so I can flash back?
I'm hoping that part of the nand remains unchanged for us taking the risk.

I can't get it to work. I have Falcon and 9199 works, just not the latest. After I flash from either Xellous or Flash360 only Xellous works.
If I use 9199 I can boot into dashboard normally.

I have tried using JTAG Tool and latest Toolbox, neither seem to work. Any ideas?

Successfully updated my Jasper 16mb with this one. Dumped nand from Flash360 (Freeboot 0.32 9199) and used it to create the update. Flashed with Flash360 and pulled the power. Works fine after i tested to pull the power a second and a third time. I didnt keep my KV when i flashed, B-button, skipped the warnings, and finally no bad-blocks in my nand.

This great tool updated me to 12611, however it seems it no longer has the files for me to select/overwrite when creating a custom image, that allows for XBOX 1 compatibility.  In the old version 24r3, all I had to do was select 'creating a custom freeboot' and then replace the patch files in the BIN directory with the ones in the 'patches_xb1' subdirectory to enable XBOX 1 games to work.  In this version, the 'patches_xb1' subdirectory is not present in the temp directory, and when I try to load an Xbox 1 game on a dash created by Toolbox 2.6, the system either crashes on the Xbox 1 logo (using a regular HDD), or goes back to the dashboard saying "The game couldn't start. Try downloading the game again." (using a HDD with modded emulator).

I've even tried copying the patch files that appear for version 24r3 over the patch files created by this version but that just resulted in a black screen on boot.

Any ideas on how to get Xbox 1 compatibility working, using this version of Bestpig Toolbox?  At this point its like I have to choose between either Xbox 1 ability or the new dash.

Do we have to update to 9199 before going to 12611?  I just used freeboot toolbox to make a freeboot.bin file using my cpu key and original nand dump from way back when I first did the jtag.  Will this work?
