TUDifier v2.0a
Posted by XanTium | November 14 08:48 EST | News Category: Xbox360

Scuba156 released a new version of TUDifier (Title Downloader):
Quote

Used to read fsd's content.xml and download Title Updates to the /cache/ folder in the applications root directory.
Uses http://updates.xboxmodder.com/title_updates.html to download the title updates.

What's new/fixed:
+ Completely rewritten
+ Added download threads with progress shown
+ Now only downloads the latest TU (still by title ID, will use media ID once fsd2 is updated)
+ Better interface
+ Search feature planned
+ Fixed downloads, now uses http://marketplace.jqe360.com
+ Select where to download TU's to instead of a preset folder
- Fsd2 game names are no longer shown, will be added later

Official Site/Download: http://code.google.com/p/titledownloader/

Cheers, scuba. I'm glad to see this got posted.  (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

The source for 2.0/2.0a hasn't been updated on the Google Code page yet. Will that be posted soon? I've been doing some significant coding lately and I've got an usual love for reading all types of code, so I'd enjoy seeing the changes from one version to the next.  (IMG:style_emoticons/default/comp.gif)

I know I should probably already know this, but since I just got into the JTAG scene....what does this tool do for me? All of my games show up on my jtag with the correct names and everything, so does this do something special with game titles or something?

Title Updates are sort of like patches.  They fix bugs and enable the games to see DLC etc.

When I upgraded to latest dash I lost a lot of TU's.  Does anybody know if ALL TU's still need to be in the cache folder?  I read somewhere that with the latest COD the TU belongs elsewhere?  One of the games I lost the TU for I re-downloaded the latest TU and put it in the cache folder, yet it's like the game doesn't see it.

This would be even more awesomer!! if it were ported to the Xbox360 itself......

Wouldn't it? Simultaneous versions?

Its already really awesome.

the next FSD2 will have this feature, the point of this app is to have something PC side for people with no internet connection on the 360.

CODE
svn checkout http://titledownloader.googlecode.com/svn/trunk/ tudifier2

Warning though, the code is messy, needs a big clean up

Line 18, position 22 of your content.xml is invalid, fsd never seem to make a proper xml, they add invalid characters that arnt acceptable. try changing the characters there

Worked beautifully for me, Scuba (88 updates).

Semi-related issue--is there something I can run that will analyze DLC and spit out a list?  I'm trying to generate a list of the Lips DLC I've already got.

Scuba... I just have to say that I really appreciate you putting your time and effort in creating this very handy program.

In using the program, I found an issue that you may want to check on while you work on your next update.

I noticed that when TUDifier 2.0a pulls the "latest TU", it's actually pulling the top TU from the update site and not the latest.  I've seen this with both Res Evil 5 (Title id 434307D4) & Bioshock 2 (Title id 54540861).

Res Evil 5 has 4 TU's listed; Tudifier pulls TU#3 as it's on top of the TU list on the site when TU# 5 should be the one downloaded.

Bioshock 2 (Title id 54540861) - has 2 TU's; Tudifier pulls TU#1, which is on top of the site's list instead of TU#2.

Maybe have the program pull by the "largest" sized update or have an option to "Download All" TU's for each game.
