Does the app give you any sort of error?

I try to extract my data partition (or even just the content folder) and it gets through name.txt and cache and then then "Party Buffalo Explorer has stopped working.."

EDIT: Nevermind, I seem to have the extraction of /Content/ working, but it crashes if I try to dump the whole partition at once, I'm going to see if I can narrow it down to a particular folder/file once this finishes.

Hmmm, I'll definitely look in to that.  Maybe I'll just add a "copy partition from other drive" feature?  Thanks.

Lowering the bandwidth used on gamerfreak's server.

Also, @Martinchris, do me a favor and try out the new version that I pushed out (v1.0.0.9).

Cheers, now able to scan for devices and it picked up my stock 120GB HDD no worries.

I went to open the FreeStyle folder on the root (as I'm running FSD) and got this exception:

"System.IO.IOException: Data error (cyclic redundancy check)"

There's obviously more information in the exception window so let me know if you want me to fire it through.

Hmm, could you post the rest of the stuff up to the "Loaded Assemblies"?

I just read you removed copy from the context menu. I have some of the old source files so I'm going to mess around with it to see if I can get it to what you want it to actually do. Im not big on C# yet, but I'm pretty fluent in other languages, but with that said don't expect anything big  sleep.gif

Copy was never a function, it was just that the treeview is a little weird with the way that the right-clicks work.  When you right-click, it wouldn't select the node you clicked, and the previously selected node would still be selected, which could be problematic.

@Martinchris
CODE
at FATX_Browser.STFS.STFSInfo.CheckBuffer()

I have a feeling that's what's causing it.  Does it do it whenever you go in ANY folder, or just in that one?  If it's happening with all of them, it's most likely where it tries to grab the STFS info for the package/file.  If it's whenever you go in to a folder with files, try running my ye version:

Ok - I managed to drill down just about every other folder on my HDD (including other manually created folders as well as FSD's fsd2data folder) and it's fine. I can access and see files populated with STFS names. It's literally just this one folder which is causing it to bomb.

I'm calling it a bogey though - I copied the folder using another tool and re-injected it using yours (and the other one I used so I could compare the result) and it now opens fine. I've still got the full error log from the problem before, so if you want it, drop me a PM and I'll forward it on. However I'd say if anyone else has this issue, the above steps would resolve it.

Thanks for your help!

That's the most bizarre thing...  I have no idea why that would have happened then to be honest.  If you ever encounter this problem again, feel free to PM me and I'll look at the entry/FAT chain to see if maybe something's weird with the FAT chain where there's no ending block or something -- that's really the only thing I can think of that may cause an infinite loop like that (especially since it's with that one folder).

Edit
Found that bug (actually encountered it myself), "fixed" it by putting a try/catch there (which is a really ghetto fix, and is applied in the latest update).  Thanks for the bug report!

As of today, I have no idea how many updates I'll be able to push out until I get a new Xbox (my current one just E74'd, video here of right before it happened (lol): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ebVuWxEte6I)

So, I'll start working on some other features (currently, everything seems like it's working fine) that will hopefully boost performance of the app and don't require me testing them on my box

Hi.

Fantastic app, I love it so much.

However, now it just won't work... It had some issues with moving lot of files to the xbox harddrive, so I wanted to try a newer machine with more power, so I went from xp sp3 32-bit -> win 7 64-bit.

Anywho, no matter how much I run as admin in win 7, I can choose my HDD, browse to directory and BAM, whatever I do from here results in not answering. Create folder, delete folder, move folder to the disk.

How can I provide you some information here? From where do people get the log thingie, that helps you?

Also my xp trusty machine also gave errors yesterday, however I will test more today.

Again, best app ever...

Nope, XP still shut down the app, as soon as I make an action with the HDD, I can see it fine, but when you do anything, like add folder, inject or something, it freezes and shuts down with error. sad.gif

When the app closes, it should have a dialog come up telling you the app crashed and all that stuff, then near the bottom will be a button that says "Details".  If you press that, there should be a summary of the error.  If you could post that, it would be wonderful!  I'll also do some testing today for writing a lot of files to see if I can reproduce the error on my machine.
