He made it on linux. I downloaded the source code and managed to build it on Windows (VS2008) (you need glut, pthread and libusb), but I couldn't get it to connect to my device. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sad.gif)

The robotics community is going to love this.
I cant wait to see people installing this to the front grille of their car and then having the car drive it self.

Marcan, if I have the right person can be a complete tool when it comes to the hacking scene, mainly because (IMO rightfully so) he is so opposed to hacked systems being used for piracy, I dont know if its (again if I am remembering the right person from the Wii scene) because he seems to have complete crap social skills, or if he is just a douche.

HOWEVER, the guy is, a complete genius when it comes to coding and the hacking side of things, it dosent suprise me in the slightest that he has done this in such a short space of time, but to be honest I hope he continues his work with AsbestOS, because I cant wait for that code to mature (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

I work a lot in Cinema 4D, although this would "almost" be impossible to model with, I would love to stick a client in front of our 50" plasma and have them walk around the room or object we built for them. You don't have the textile feel obviously, but to 'hold' and rotate an object in 3D space would be great. (But we use OSX so make a driver for that as well)

Also my gf is an occupational therapist and has kids that do not have the dexterity to hold a mouse or a controller and the kinect could make huge leaps in interfacing technology(and gaming) for kids and adults that could not before.

and I can't wait to use it with XBMC, but that ones for me.
