Mousepatcher 2.0

IPB Image

What is Mousepatcher 2.0?
Mousepatcher aims to keep your Xbox 360 safe online by patching the Security Sector data on the ISO with version 2 SS/DMI data, which has been recommended by c4eva.
Mousepatcher 2.0 is a complete rewrite from the original, and now automatically patches the ISO with SSv2 data without you having to traverse the internet to find files for yourself.

I'm new to Xbox images... What is SSv2?
In laymen's terms, some backed up images ripped using the Kreon drive used angles that were preset which the Xbox used, and adjusted them to replicate the jitter in a drive, whereas 0800 rips recorded the accurate measurements - or SSv2.
Kreon drives did allow SS data to contain angles that stuck out, like angle 359. And you'd consequently be banhammered from Xbox Live.

So, how do I get Mousepatcher 2.0? I want!
I've written a nicely typed 'press release' over on my Blog, and the link to the site where I host all my projects is on there!

Mousepatcher 2.0 Press Release: http://mattryder.wor...6/mousepatcher/
I've released the Windows binaries, and entire source code for the application as well, check it out!

Note: There are one or two bugs I know about, and I am trying to fix them.
And a final note to Xbox Scene, thanks for the continuing support, Mousepatcher would still be unknown without you guys!  love.gif

That's a bullshit summary.  Kreon rips were never the cause of bad disc angles.  Those were due to a bug in C4E's firmwares which didn't properly wrap values greater than 359 to zero when adding angle deviation values.  And it wasn't just Kreon rips that could trigger it, although it was more common, but 0800 rips could do it as well.

This may be a useful tool, but what's the source for the SSv2 data?

Ah sorry, guess I never fully understood when I read up about them.
Thanks for correcting my knowledge though, the more you know, eh?  happy.gif

It uses the ABGX database for it's files, by the way.  smile.gif

Makes sense, although the ABGX database kind of defeats the purpose of doing your own rips.  Kreon rips are still perfectly valid rips, and I'd prefer not to patch my known good rips with someone else's data.  But if you are going to patch, you may as well do it with SSv2.  Of course, this probably has more application for people who don't do their own rips, in which case, I have no further comment.

Interesting but why would I use this over ABGX?  Also I hope everyone here is aware that a Kreon drive isn't the best way to make 1:1 backups, C4Eva himself has stated that a Samsung MS28 drive in 0800 mode will rip the best backups.

It is part of the modding tool kit. Many may not agree with it, but that shouldn't mean it needs to be 100% shunned.

My last one, 'Mousepatcher 360' was, and recieved quite well.
I'm not sure why this one wouldn't be.

If you've got a perfectly good image, with SSv1, ABGX360 will not patch it to SSv2 automatically. You'd have to go to the site, pick the files and use the checkboxes etc on ABGX to load the SS/DMI into the program then patch it for every image, everytime.

Here, you get this, drop it in, done. smile.gif

Is there link to a real binary (or zip file) besides that XML crap (Mousepatcher 2.0.application)?

..or alternatively, use your originals for playing online.

Seeing as no-one can promise that SSv2 patching will prevent bans, it's a moot exercise.

Nope, that's the application.

I use ClickOnce to ensure I can get updates to people without writing a whole bulky update function in the program and having to get some webhosting for the update files.

If you're having a problem, I can help you solve it.  smile.gif

Because the words i quoted directly break X-S rules:

QUOTE
-People CANNOT promote piracy, promote backups on LIVE. Prolonged comments, whether ethical, financial, or political about using backups on LIVE (a clear violation of LIVE TOS) will get you a ban. So choose every word on these issues carefully. There is no Reprieve. There is also no reversal of XS bans for people banned on this forum previous to this posting.

Quite a double standard if one application is allowed yet another isnt just because the public may like it.

your download method on codeplex is pissing me off on windows 7.  do you plan on putting an actual link to it instead of your dumb@ass click once install program.

I don't understand the problem, if you let me know I may be able to offer a simple fix.
I've had 260 people, and 40 who've updated from the first release without a hitch.

There are no plans for an offline installer option, and as this is my last Xbox related project, I am not interested in that avenue.
