Exiso.exe Gui Front End (rarto360 V2.6)
« Reply #30 on: September 22, 2010, 02:55:00 PM »

I just got FSD2 to test with and the issue is, if you go to command prompt and open a ftp session with FSD2 and do "cd hdd1/games/" it says OK but goes into a empty directory.

if you do "cd /hdd1/games/" it says OK and properly enters the directory. Main post has details, but basically in 360 game directory you MUST include a LEADING forward slash with FSD2.

This should take care of ALL known bugs - please let me know if there are any more before I move on to a feature request.

Running final test on 3.0 with batch support... seems to be working perfect so far!

java doesn't refresh the GUI until the behind the scenes processing is done so status updates aren't accurate during batch processes - it will say "Status batch process complete" when it is totally done.

As always please report any bugs =)

haha, I can definitely have a button to show the queue and items left but a transfer speed and progress bar would be difficult as they are not built into the exiso.exe I use.

I will make something to allow you to at least view whats remaining in the queue.

I always wondered if this software was working 100% under Wine. I would be a time saver but I don't want to install windows just for this soft...

Thanks a lot for putting all your time and effort into this tool, this is exactly what I was looking for! Now if only I could get it to work. I connect my 360 to my pc via crossover cable and It logs on to the ftp and then transfers 0 bytes into the $Noupdate folder and the just stops with a  blinking cursor "> _"      I do not have any firewalls on and it is obviously is getting connected if it is transfering the first folder. Have tried both FSD and XeXmenu...  Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

I am not sure what to say about the 0 byte transfer other than other gui's using the exiso.exe had a similar issue, as did I at one point. Make sure you are deleting the incomplete game folder from the 360 before trying to use the app again.

The problem cleared up for me some time ago and I have not seen it since. I have tested this in FSD, FSD2, and xexmenu, 100% success with all three.

Post back what ends up resolving your problem Kunzinator.

Again, im glad you guys are enjoying and getting use out of this =) I will probably work on a button to view batch jobs or something similar for a next release.  smile.gif

Okay so that wasn't the problem the problem is that this program will only work if I have one network connection connected to my PC, even if I unplug my internet then wait till transfer is going then plug back in it will still freeze. Don't know if you know what would cause this but I think I saw someone post above with the same issue... Kind of sucks because when I am transferring I can't use my Xbox, and then I can't use my internet either!

thanks for posting back again Kunzinator, you are right someone else had this issue and had to disable their networking, I will add this to the main post.

I am sorry I do not have a solution to offer for the problem but it makes sense that I had to uninstall a third party network driver I had on my system when this issue happened to me.

From the looks of it you getting permission errors which normally is typical of FSD. Can you confirm you using xex-menu and not the ftp while in FreeStyleDash?

Yes I am using FSD 2, ok i have to instal xex first i think. I only have FSD installed on the console?

tks for the tip

you can use ANY dash, FSD FSD2 or XEX, just make sure you put the leading forward slash in the 360 game box, ie: /hdd1/games/

What are the chances of getting a mac version.

It's written in  java so it will at least open in Win/Mac/Nix environment, and the readme on the exiso exe says it is made to work in any of those three but I dont have a mac and would have no way to test it.

The only changes would be the arguments passed to exiso and the unrar commands (there is a supplied mac version of the exiso on its sourceforge page).

If anyone is interested in making a MAC version I would be more than happy to give you the source code to play with - just PM me an email address.

I couldnt get this to work with rar files then I looked at the bat files and realized it uses WinRar which I didnt have installed(7zip user).

you could manually edit the batch to use 7zip cli commands instead of rar and it would probably work
