Problem With Upgraded 250gb Hd
« on: July 31, 2010, 04:28:00 PM »

Hey y'all.

I used HDDHACKR on my 250gb BEVS scorpio drive and its formatted (apparently) and the 360 reads it but not in a great way.

First of all, no matter what I've done so far, the NTFS partition that this drive originally had is still read by Windows.  The 360 can't see this and treats the HD as if it's a dedicated 360 drive.  The 360 shows that there is about 220GB free which is weird even though I can have 100GB used up on the NTFS partition.  I can't figure a way out to remove it.  I formatted it through the 360 itself but nothing changes.

Second, when the drive is connected, anything that would touch the HD becomes excruciatingly slow.  I.E., Halo 3 will load but is extremely slow.  Initially, it took about 5 minutes from the dashboard to the Halo 3 menu.  When I go to campaign, it again, loads slow.  I can wait about 10 minutes but will only be 28% done with loading the campaign mission.  I guess this is do to the screwed up partition.

Anyone have any ideas on this?  I've tried searching but haven't been able to find a similar problem anywhere.

I would hook it up to your computer and delete the ntfs partition, if this doesnt do it I would restore the drive to its original state then delete the partition

wtf ntfs partition on the same drive? Rather delete all partitions on the drive via diskmgmt.msc, then connect it to the xbox360 and format it from there...

Should be good to go.

Already tried that.  :\

Still having a problem with this one drive.  Y'all think that this partition problem is the cause for my xbox loading anything game related slowly with this HD connected?  And I'm using an OEM HD case, not the dealextreme one.

Don't test w/ any Halo game.  Bungie said do not install to HDD but to play off the disk.
