Hey all,

So I (loving everything not-windows) decided to make a Java-based FSD Indexer for all of us linux/osx folk.

I will give you a heads up before hand: at the moment, it is pretty rough. I have been working on it this past week, and wanted to get it out before FSD 2.0 (I'll probably end up updating this to support it..) so there may be some hidden bugs. But stick with me, we'll get through em (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

Some things to note:
  • It works differently than the official Indexer.. It first downloads all items to a local cache, and then, if you want to save to the xbox, you must click 'save changes'. This will upload everything to the xbox via ftp
  • As of this release, only FTP works. Also, I have only tested FTP-HDD uploading, although FTP-USB support SHOULD work.
  • Right now, it has no support for grabbing icons.
  • Also, it only downloads info from the xbox marketplace, so lesser known games MAY not be found.. Not sure.
Things to fix
  • When saving/uploading to xbox, the progress box doesn't show anything.. that's because the text is getting updated too quickly for the Java Swing thread to repaint.. give it time, and the box will go away. All the files will automagically be on the xbox.

Like I said, this is a very early release (consider it an early, early beta).
If there is interest, I will update/cleanup-the-code/release-the-source.

( sorry for the MU link.. I don't have access to any server space :\ )

Questions, comments, suggestions?

EDIT: btw, it's a JAR-Executable, meaning you should just be able to click the JAR file and it'll run.. if not, try 'java -jar jFSD.jar' from the command line, without the quotes and in the extracted folder
