I first ran the bugfix command , and named it smc1.bin then ran the default command and named the file smc2.bin then i re encrypted smc2.bin (which contains both the bugfix and the point change) into the original freeboot image I had built , then i opened up in flash 360 tool just to make sure thier weren't any errors trying to open it.

You could make a generic xbr image with just your config and KV , then patch the SMC for the new wiring on the XBR image , this will then give you xell to get your CPU key and build the freeBOOT image. Then you should in theory just be able to use the same patched SMC you made for your XBR image on the freeBOOT image , you just have to have your CPU to build the freeBOOT image.
I am partly trying to help but also brainstorming how I am going to do it , I have not gotten to test this yet so don't quote me on anything I am saying. I'm not a dumbass though and i have done a lot of Jtagging , and i followed the thread on XBH while they were working on it so i knew this was on the way at some point.

Db1f1 and ft1u2 are still the other point you solder to. I haven't seen anything about how to change the other point to the DVD tray point. Anyone know what command would change the DB1F1 point?

when i flash my zephyr with the newly built freeboot image using the basic mode smc, My Orginal wiring is still working and my xbox still boots but still e79 alot.

So its as if the wires changing code didn't work for some reason?

smc_io SMC_dec.bin SMC_basic.bin

thats my bat file called basic.bat

the only thing i can think is the fact i flashed with flash360 (I do raw flash not keeping kv and config) I get a image is not zero paired. I get this and just ignore never cosed problems before still hasn't but, I think for some reason the smc or something isn't being flashed because of the not zero paired? i dunno?

any advice from those smarter than me?

use xellous?
i don't have a serial port or anything to flash with. so I need to use software flashing methods.

thx in advance
Dustin

Yea but then I have to flash XBR through USB, which will slow me down a lot. It would probably just be quick to swap the wires after flashing via Xellous to freeBOOT. I already patched all my smc files from #freeboot for the JTAG bug, but not basic mode yet. Im just wondering if writing only the first 50 blocks with Xell/Xellous will work with AUD_CLAMP. I can't try anything for about a week though.

it works smile.gif yahhh!
i already had my full nand dumps and keyvaults and rawconfig files but i had lifted a resister trying to solder to it.  so i could not get xell or xellous or xbr to boot with the old points as i had ruined them.

what i did was,

1.  wired it with the new wiring diagram: (careful this time not to ruin them heheh)
tms to audio clamp and tdi to tray open output

2.  injected my keyvault  and rawconfig and even xellous into an xbr.bin for my mobo.

3.  used 360 flash tool v0.94 to extract SMC_dec.bin from that xbr img i had just created.

4.  used smc_io to patch that smc_dec.bin with:
smc_io SMC_dec.bin SMC_patched.bin CC 28 CF 03

5.  renamed the smc file i had just patched from smc_patched.bin to SMC.bin

6.  then i used sbtool.exe to encrypt the smc file and inject it back into the xbr img i created:
sbtool i SMC.bin xbr.bin

7.  then i flashed this xbr.bin with nandpro via lpt and used the eject button to boot xellous.  it worked 1st time and i got my cpu key  (xbr also booted just fine)

8.  then i reused that same patched smc.bin file and created my freeboot32 img with it and im running freeboot just fine now smile.gif

never had to change the wires around and so far i havnt had any failed boots.

thanks to everyone smile.gif

I have found how to inject the new SMC data into Xell. I extracted the encrypted smc from XBR and searched for the hex in xell. The SMC data starts at offset 4224 in jasper_6723_hack.bin. So make your new SMC and get it encryted by making a freeBOOT image or something similar. Extract that encrypted SMC and inject it into Xell.

EDIT: Same offset for all consoles except Xenon.

I don't know what I'm doing wrong but I changed the wire to AUD_CLAMP and patched the smc and rebuilt a freeboot image. After flashing all I get is E79.

A more detailed instruction on how to do this would be helpful  smile.gif

I got as far as putting the patched smc in the data folder in freeboot.

A little help please?

What would be the easiest and best procedure to install the SMC bug fix and possibly the SMC I/O change to my Zephyr? I am running Freeboot and have Xellous installed. I have all my backup bins. I have the originals , XBR3 and freeboot backups for it. As well I have the CPU key, keyvault, etc.
Can I install the SMC fix and I/O change using Xellous ?

How did you update your SMC on file and to nand?

This is how I did it:

smc_io file.bin newfile.bin
(default settings)
put new smc.bin in freeBoot's data\ folder
build new freeboot image, remap bad blocks, etc, etc.

Flashed Image via Flash360.

Powered off, opened my box and changed the wire.

Power back on and it's beatiful.

I still need to know and/or test if it's possible to set Open Tray as TMS and not just TDI.  huh.gif

I did the same except I moved the wire to AUD_CLAMP first and then flashed using the usb flasher soldered to the board. I figured I'd just slap xellous on there with new smc and then use it to flash the rest. But no go as all I get is either no video or E79. Can I not just use the AUD_CLAMP point from the start?

Quick question @Ceazer:

What DVD Drive are you using? To my understanding some drives can eject while booting, just want to know what drive you are using.

I'm interested in changing TMS to OPEN_TRAY and see if that works.

Has anyone tried this? is will OPEN_TRAY signal work with TMS or is it limited to TDI?
Thanks.

How many boots have you performed so far, and how many of these have caused the DVD Tray to open during boot?

5 or 6 last night and it never happened once

just booted it 10x with a disk in the tray and it happened 1x
and then tried 15x without a disk in the tray and it didnt happen anymore smile.gif

Does anyone have a patched falcon smc that they can send me. One with TMS set to AUD_CLAMP.

Thanks.

Update : I'm a dumbass. I soldered to Q2P1 instead of Q2N1.
