I am planning on doing a 256MB jasper soon, would it be better for me to wait on how this develops or are jaspers not as prone to random errors vs other models? I did a xenon already which has been trouble free but sounds like the jasper is going to be more difficult vs the xenon.

This is for all HDMI boards. Basically what this is doing is taking the signal for AUD_Clamp and using it for Jtag injection over Argon_data which is the one connected to your RF board , and has always been my opinion that this is the one causing problems.  I would suspect within the next few days someone else will pick this up and release a new wiring and this is what we will use for Jtagging HDMI consoles from now on , meaning that eventually the SMC code for them is just going to be updated and this is how we will Jtag them.
I stopped by xboxhacker the other day and saw Blackaddr was working on it so i am pleased to see something released already , I am doing 22 Jtags at least this week so i will have some to test it on.

 Thank You Blackaddr good work.

You can always patch both TMS and TDI to AUD_CLAMP and TRAY_OPEN and use completely new JTAG wiring.

Never hurts. Also changing from HDMI to TRAY_OPEN could also eliminate E79 errors on bootup when using HDMI cable tongue.gif

.....but, your DVD Tray may open uppon bootup as results of the garbage data sent to this signal during the hack attack.

Unless I'm missing the point here, there's no need to use db1f1 on Falcons and Jaspers. Just use the boxxdr method:

Thanks for endorsing my method. smile.gif

My method is taping into the same signal as db1f1 and that has been proven to be unreliable to many people regardless of where you tap it. This new method has found other singal lines from the smc that are more stable during boot so it will be a big improvement.

The instructions call for me to re-encrypt and import the new smc.bin into my nand. How do you re-encrypt in 360 Flash Tool? When I use the import function, does this automatically re-encrypt it?

I can confirm that using AUD_CLAMP for TMS with these SMC fixes has eliminated random E79s (so far) on my 4558 Zephyr.

HA! That's GREAT news.

Forgive my ignorance on the technical aspects, but could using this different route/method of signal tapping be used to further research hacking 'unhackable' boxes?  The existing jtag hack has been rock solid for me (except for zephyrs), but I would be willing to redo one of my jtags to try this.  Anyone experienced a difference on jaspers?

Nope, this just re maps signals to differnt lines on the smc, the hack is the same hack.

On my falcon i do notice if i start my xbox when a controller is plugged in and it seems to make the ROL errors to happen alot more. I actually think the ROL errors are pretty funny because sometimes it will do the RROD the whole time your playing it or solid orange, its so funny. The only one I haven't ever seen it do is the Christmas lights like when there's a KV error, which is interesting. Also I've NEVER had a boot problem, E79 or any controller problems my falcon just the funny light errors. I use HDMI most of the time.

Just put the fixed smc.bin in your freeboot data dir and rebuild with ibuild.

Thanks to everyone that made this possible.

Found em, disregard

Just as a note for everyone.

Tiro's bug fix on the original SMC hack applies to all SMC's (except Xenon I think).

Faster Boot times on Falcon with this fix + AUD_CLAMP as new TMS.

Also, as metioned by Happy_Bunny on this post: http://www.xboxhacke...10364#msg110364

Apply the fix to your SMC, make new FreeBoot and flash. Your E79 issue could be eliminated with just this bugfix.

If issue persists than use this tool to change the I/O and rewire.

So in theory, you might fix your issues without using a different JTAG wiring, but I do recomend using AUD_CLAMP, it fixes issues with ROL and Controller issues like synching and such.

Cheers.

So does using the AUD_CLAMP fix controller synching issues while in freestyle dash??

We always use DB1F1 but I dont there is a one-size-fits-all approach (Allthought It's rock solid with just about everything from Falcon up) Which is why we had planned to develop a PIC based solution. We don't have a lot of time for R&D at the moment which is why if enough ppl PM me(Only need a couple) I will start a new topic for deveolping it. What we really need (That we dont't really have at the moment) is a list from ppl of which boxes (MFR,Mobo etc..) have the issue (Assuming it's not their soldering OR components incompatible/poor manufacturing tolerances)

Finally got around to doing this today. I went from XBR on a Zephyr CB:4558 system that had major issues. Successfully flashed to Freeboot and changed the SMC to the Aud_clamp and the machine is working fantastic now. No more using my jtagged Xenon! Major props to Blackaddr and everyone else involved in this

i have a quick question my falcon that i recently had jtagged will sometimes give me the one red light in the lower left hand side.
And then i have to do the initial setup crap again, and its starting to get old fast would applying the smc fix to a new freeboot image and flashing it fix this or will i have to resolder all the wiring?

cause i didn't do the soldering in the first place and i know nothing about it >.<

if so could someone pm me the instructions on how to apply the fix i know how to flash it but i usually use freeboot toolbox for the rest >.<
