that is what i'm trying to find out. when the program is making a custom freeboot about halfway through it takes you to a temp folder with the ibuild.exe and bin folder and other stuff but i'm not sure what i supposed to do. it does not give you alot of time either...................sudeki300
I noticed that too. Maybe it just stops making freeboot, and opens up to the temp directory so that you can add, or replace certain files if you would like. So, it looks like the box does not need to be checked.

Edit: It might also be so that you can add the files that you want to launch with dashlaunch to the nand. Also, I got a black screen when installing with flash360 and with xellous. Is that supposed to happen because of dashlaunch? I chose the HDD option. I want to eventually use fsd 2.0 when it is released as my main dash. But are there files that I need to put on the hdd so that it can attempt to boot a file then go into nxe if it doesn't find a file?

Works perfectly. First time, no issues. Just read...properly.

Personally I used the NAND install option. I believe this is the best option, fastest for sure. As long as you don't mind changing the .ini once and awhile it's no big deal. NAND's have 1000's of write cycles. Can't even imagine how many times I re-wrote my Xbox 1's flash. Why all of a sudden do people think that writing to a NAND a couple hundred times is bad for it? You do know Wii's run their OS off the NAND, and all of the WiiWare and VC games as well. Not once have I heard of someone having issues writing the NAND on a Wii. 360's NAND is no different.

Goodbye NXE!. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wink.gif)

You have to download the Dash Launch 1.0 zip and find the launch.xex and launch.ini files.  those 3 options are places you could put those 2 files where freeboot will look for it.

good luck!

ah, alrighty. thank you!

I don't know why but I keep getting an "error freeboot image cannot be created" after the bar reaches 100%. Anyone else having this issue?

I am using my original nand and my matching cpu key.

Edit: It works when I use my XBR3 nand. Do I need to flash to 7131 before I can use this tool?

"kv.bin was not decrypted properly, CPU key does not match the dump"
After 38% I get this message.

I have a 256mb jasper with XBR3.
The CB - 6723
I've triple checked the cpu key and I can open the dump in 360 flash tool with no problems.

Any ideas as to why I'm getting this error?

Thanks

Used this today on my friends xbox to go from XBR3 to freeBoot.  Worked great used flash360 to update.

Only thing I would like to see added is the ablity to keep console setting like mac add, screen res and other stuff like that.  You might be able to do this now but I don't know how to do it.

You probably used the Flash tool to extract the files. What OS are you running?

I am getting the same error which flash tool are you talking about?

I used flash360 to make a backup of the full nand and i am 100% sure of the CPU key but I get the same error.

Oh and I am using Windows7 running as administrator.

Try the original nand before the hack was preformed.

That sorted my problem out. I thought for some reason that this could use your xbr3 dump to make a freeboot though?

Thanks again!

It can but its not recommened because XBR does not use the files from your xbox.

Same result as every other one of these programs...

Yes this is with the "Original Nand"

"Your dump has not been properly extracted"

There is nothing wrong with the nand dumps. I hvae been playing off them for quite some time...

xenon cb 1903

---------------

I really just wish they would make a new version of xbr before the games start requiring them.

From the posts I have read there will be no new XBR and if you are playing backups for hdd all you have to do is remove the $TitleUpdate folder. So you really dont need the new freeboot if you dont want.
