No its not as simple as that. I have my original nand and my kv got corrupt so the ONLY option i had was to use a doner kv(from a system that was also mine)to get xbr to boot.
It keeps telling me my kv is wrong so i guess im screwed and so are the other ppl in here that may have the same prob. wink.gif

i'm in the same problem, and my console never go to live so i'm not cheating..only thing is the kv that is corrupt..

I get e71 every time try this.

I dumped the nand (xbr3a with xellous) with flash360 on flash drive.
ran it through this toolbox.
Used flash360 and e71 on reboot!

I used an original, dumped 7371 image from when I 1st backed up the xbox to jtag.
Ran it through, this time I used xellous to flash, and.... e71 !

took image used to flash xbr3a(badblocks remapped) and toolbox gave error.
used jtag tool to convert it to original and ran it back through toolbox (xellous to flash) - E71 !!!!

I gave up...just took the same xbr3a image and reflashed it with xellous and xbox booted.
now im back to stage 1

please help!

For the life of me!!! Can anyone confirm that they can get matching freeboot image builds using any of the available apps. I have got matching original nand.bins for both falcon and jasperBB and have been checked 100% in 360 flash dump tool (had to remap 1 block in jasperBB)
I can build them with either ibuild or freeboot toolbox and on 3 different PC's but when checked in HXD the freeboot builds don't match so I can't trust them to flash.
Has anyone tried making two exact freeboot images and compared? - you might find the same - differences start at offset 1080 for me.  uhh.gif

actuallly, I made builds using easy xbr to jtag and freebot toolbox and both gave e71 error. I cant see why because I have a correct cpu key (confirmed it was correct by using it in 360 flash tool to open a nand dump). Im just lucky xelllous could reflash by usb drive.

Ughh! I'm about to give up trying to get freeboot on for now. I've tried all of the different applications from just ibuild thru to these more GUI user friendly apps.
I know my original Nand dumps are good and I can build the image fine but it's always different when comparing them in a hex editor like HXD\Analysis\File-compare\Compare.
Can someone please give me a clue as to what could be wrong, I can't be the only one who's having this problem.
It could explain why so many find that they get issues after flashing but all is good again when going back to XBR.

When you build an image it will never be the same as a previos one that you built. There will aways be a difference.

So, if say I was to build 2 images using the exact same orig Nand.bin and using the exact same method each time, I will end up with differences?
On a side note, which is the correct libeay32.dll to use - I'm a win7 64bit.

Yes you will always end up with differences.

i dont know whats worng with this software, but I took an original 7371 dump with correct cpu key and generated a freeboot.bin. I flashed with xellous and this time I got E79 !!!
Now I have to open the 360 and resolder the lpt interface and reflash...what a day

Thanks antisniperspy, I thought that if I was doin' it right smile.gif  it would be the same everytime, meaning that the process was clean.
I was obviously wrong coz I took your advice and flashed my falcon freeboot image on and seems ok so far, avatars have dissappeared as usual tho.
I'm presuming that will right itself when a 9199 update appears via disc, like it did with 8955 or can I apply via usb with the official 9199 update? Note: still have R6T3 in place.
I used the smc from jtag tool which is ok for falcon but I read that there is possibly a different smc between jasper 16mb or jasperBB. I have yet to try on JasperBB. There is only one in the SMC folder of jtag tool for jasper so I don't know?? I haven't been able to locate this stuff in the usual places so I trusted this.

Im glad it worked for you I have had mixed results with this tool. As for the 9199 update you can just put it on a usb drive and it should only install the avatars. If you do try a BBJasper with this tool will you post how it goes because I have one of those and a 256Jasper to do sometime soon.

I have also had problems with a falcon I did about a week ago. I could not even get back into xellous. If you cant get back into Xellous then yes you have to open it up.

Ok, I will report back when I get a chance, hopefully in the next day or so, just want to make sure I get the correct smc for jasperBB ( I could use the one in XBR3 has on it at present but will need to work out how to extract, probably easy). Note to self: My jasper nand backup is at 7363 so we'll see what happens there.
My exact method was I used Easy Freeboot v2.0, put all the required stuff in as per normal ibuild setup using smc from folder in jtag tool, did the build, renamed the image to the usual updflash.bin and flashed via Flash360 after launching with Xexmenu. And chose to not overwrite kv or config (had my own config already).

Edit: Xellous boots fine also but the intro title rips thru pretty quick compared to the older xell it had on, no big deal.

What are the setting/files needed for the dashlauch usb-hdd patch?
Created and flashed great, but just need to know where/what to put files in for the dashlaunch usb-hdd.
Or atleast what version of dashlaunch is it?
