Well, the JTAG wiring is what actually enables us to program the DMA address and then the attack is launched using the SMC. In simple words, the JTAG wiring is what enables you to boot XBR (hardware-wise). If you have XBR installed and the JTAG cables are not ok, you will power your xbox and you'll get E79. The opposite also stands true, you will not be able to boot stock kernel with the JTAG wires soldered.

JTAG + XBR = BOOT OK
NO JTAG + XBR = FAIL
JTAG + STOCK KERNEL = FAIL
NO JTAG + STOCK KERNEL = BOOK OK

If you get any other errors, (or if E79 appears later in the proccess, like during bootanim) chances are something went wrong during NAND writing.

If you get "christmas lights" (search it on youtube) better do the patch again, usually means something wrong with the KeyVault.

First i made a usb spi nand flasher with pic18f2550 and used autohacker v2.1.

Everything was fine except write section.



I got an error at the end of writing. Is it a problem to work properly?

Edit: I'm desolder all cables and 2 diodes from motherboard, opened the console and getting E79 1RROD 1033 error code ( Any idea? Soryy for double post i cant't find the edit button.

Why did you remove all the wires? I take it that "and the two diodes" refers to the JTAG wiring.
The JTAG wires and diodes are supposed to be soldered AFTER writing NAND and stay there forever.
You only have to remove the LPT cables. The system gives you E79 because the the JTAG wires are not there. Resolder them

Slight Correction: JTAG + STOCK KERNEL = BOOT OK on every console I have tried it on (12+).  Maybe it depends on the original Kernel version?

I had tried it on a console, it didn't boot and I assumed that this was the case. Nice to know it actually works.

Well, there is a reason for this, please read the whole thread, as it has been already discussed. This is going a take a while IF it ever gets added as a functionality. If you insist that it is necessary step, use an external program, it's your best bet.

Hi BadBloke,

Am back and it worked out AWESOME (except a few things noted below).  We redid the LPT wiring and this time used a smaller wire and a shielded one, and I had a PERFECT nand dump.  It did 2 dumps that matched up, and I successfully flashed it and removed the LPT.  Since I had a Falcon mobo, I went with the 330 ohm at jumper and 2 4148 diodes at other points.

The Xbox boots up properly and I can play games, etc., but I have a few errors....

1) When playing any game, if I decide to go back to the dashboard by pressing "xbox button and then Y, it ALWAYS goes to E71 with one red light.  I just restart the xbox, and it works fine again for hours at end, until I have to return to the dashboard.

2) Avatars are not coming.

3) It doesn't autoload the profile stored on the hdd, but after the dash boots, you can select the profile and it will load just fine, but I can`t load the profiles in game (the "select profile" window opens and then closes REALLY FAST).

4) I thought may be something on the HDD was messing it up, but it does the same when HDD is removed.  Also, it doesn't let me format the HDD.  When I press "ENTER SERIAL NUMBER", the window OPENS AND CLOSES REALLY FAST.

What would you recommend me ?  I know this has got nothing to do with Autohacker, but PLEASE help me out.

Arakon from xboxhacker suggested I reflash my 360, and I used Flash360 to flash the XBR again, and it's working AWESOME

It's working just like a normal Xbox 360 is supposed to, although I have to figure out how to install avatars on this machine

This is what I would suggest, too, had I read your post in time   LPT can be tricky and often takes 2-3 writes until you get it right

I got a question...

I have an Xbox (with the latest expl kernel) which I've flashed with iXtreme several times (latest flash was with fw 1.51 (BenQ drive)). Last time I did it was 8-9 month ago, if not a year ago... So, I have been following the scene, but not that much...

So as you can see, I'm not a totally newbie, but still I'm not quite updated on the scene as of now.
So the question is...

Should I JTAG (hardware soldering) my Xbox first and then play with AutoHacker or what? I'm a bit confused after reading this thread (which states that I have to solder some of the wires AFTER Autohacker did its job?)...

I'm looking for a USB solution, not LPT one.

Also instead of soldering the wires and all the diodes myself, I'm thinking of getting NAND-X JTAG Kits. The price isn't the most important thing for me, I could afford anything up to $75-100. A friend of mine would solder it for me (my skills at this plan aren't good enough).

When the Xbox is "hacked", I would like to use freeboot (instead of XBReboot).

Any comments are welcome

Hi Bad Bloke,

Believe it or not, I can't get this program to ever identify my XBR's.  First screen always says they are not there.  I have tried zipped, rar'd, and just bin files.  Dunno.

Anyway, I've spent several days tinkering around and have some nice routines (albeit vb6, lol) to make a gui that's fully automated (similar to yours, but for even noobier noobs).  It uses a pipe for all nandro commands except nand reading & writing (as the pipe won't actually have output until it's complete, thatnks m-soft) so I wrote a nice memory capture routine that displays the 4096 byte (dec) block nandpro uses to output to the command prompt.

I doubt i'll ever release a program or anything, I just like tinkering.  If you want any of it let me know. It also does auto setup of the type based on the flash config, reads the cb on it's own, compares dumps on it's own...prolly a few other things I can't remember right now.

I am unable to do stuff simultaneously and I'm currently very very busy, I'm also preparing a little something -hopefully big - (gaming-related, but not at all xbox-related).

WooolF, you need to do some reading before you try any of this, from what you write, I understand you have quite some stuff to learn before you are ready for this hack.

EluZioN, I doubt it is a bug, because I have tested it myself by downloading and copying the files. Could the actual files have changed in Xbins? Please post all filenames exactly and let me check it out. You can also try using AutoHacker 2.0V (the previous version). Just note that in the previous version there is a bug where CB 6723 is detected as not exploitable and you have to actually choose the PATCH command to find out if it detects XBR (the start-up test was added in 2.1)

I tried Autohacker severel times works perfect. I jtagged xenon, falcon boards.
But now I'm tring jasper board always gives error.

I dumped two times with option called "Read Bootloader" . They are match.
But when I started write nand,always gives different errors.
I tried 20 times always error. What should I do now?
