Hello, picking the Backup option causes the program to "lockup" during the time that it is creating the backup..thats probably not what one would want .. some kind of progress measure would be better. When it's actually done with the backup it tells me 100% done (or something similar) but the only way to het rid of that message is to press the ABORT button while one should have expected a DONE or CLOSE button or something.

I also have a little question: when doing a Check Hard Drive your program found 68 Errors on my 20 GB hard drive. Is it perfectly safe to actually repair those with your program? Is it "normal" a 360 hd has that many errors after a certain time? They seem cross linked files most of the time.

Thanks for answering this.

I believe from your description that the clustermap is corrupt and that one of the entries points to a cluster that doesn't exist on the hdd. So XBox 360 Commander is caught in a endless loop of trying to read it and failing then retrying. I have to go though the code and verify that.

As I have said above the repair disk button is not working yet. I want it to be working 100% before I release that function because of the potential damage it could do.

If you delete the files listed by the check hard drive the backup should work. But create an imagefile of the HDD before you do anythiong like that. The create image makes an exact copy of the HDD so that nothing can be lost.

it would be super if you could throw together a simple extract prog for .xbc so I can get my save files back. tried multiple versions to restore my backup but no result.

Hello

I have a 320GB internal HDD on an Xbox jtag (296 GB formatted NXE)
Connected to PC by transfer kit x360, it is recognized "Partition1" with Xbox360 ordering rev 23 but I can not be acceded. (I'm on Windows 7 Integral)

It seems that we must create partiton 1/2/3? how? I don't backup HDD 20GB Official

Thank you

Drag and drop still not fixed in windows 7 x64, please just add right click sub menu, with an insert option.

thnx ice...

I tried to move a complete set of title updates (~750 files) to a JTAG and a banned consoles, teh files are small (~600K-1MB), the process was very slow. I was able to ftp it to my JTAG, but obviously I cant do that on my banned non JTAG console...

I would appreciate it if you thought of a solution to speed up the process of transferring smaller files...

thnx,

I was wondering how exactly the 1 click transferred wizard works, I try and follow the on screen instructions.

After I press next, I get prompted to open a file I type in any name but it says file not found. Is there something I am doing wrong? I ended up just doing a sector backup.

Hmmm.. The new backup file format may have broken this feature. I will check it out and fix the problem.

(perhaps move this to troubleshooting)

i opened up X360 commander b23 with my USB transfer cable, an error popped up with calculated HDD size not being correct, and it offered to fix this. naturally i said no, but after the program crashed while loading the cache folder, i reopened X360 commander, and by accident, it opened up the same dialog box, but i clicked the fix option by mistake.

thus, resulting in a damaged partition 3, and a backup HDDSS.bin file, 3,584 bytes

i was not amused to see this, as i would like to get some of the data back before i wipe/format the drive, somehow. can anyone point me towards a way to recover the partition 3 data, or to replace the HDDSS in windows ? or do i have to go back to HDDHACKR and redo the SATA HDD firmware  ?

i do have a 20gb and 120gb official HDD to recover partition data from, but i can't really work out what happened, as i recently FTP'd the old HDD content  onto a  formatted 250gb, and never really had a problem accessing data locally.

Has there been more thought/progress on a utility to extract the backups made by the program?

Use winhex or simular program to copy the HDDSS.bin backup to the HDD starting at sector 16(byte offset 0x4000). This will undo the changes made by fix HDD size.

How's the next release coming along?  I'd really like to be able to add files and folders to my hard drive since Xplorer360 stopped recognizing my drive.

Hello again.
Long time since i posted.

Well, the time came to fix the screwed up file system by dumping my GOD/Profile stuff and reformatting.

The major issues since r21 still persist.
1. Its slow as a dead one legged dog, takes forever to transfer files;
2. I still get ALL files and folders knocked back to 30-11-1979, even though dumps have current and proper dates.

Setup is:
E6600 @ Stock
4Gb pc2-6400 ram
Nv GTX480
Windows 7 32bit.
