Now that ISO2GOD supposedly supports Xbox1 iso format games I thought it would be time to consider retiring the old Xbox1.
Warning - Incoming wall of text.Since I've got a large number of games already extracted onto the Xbox 1 I thought it would save me alot of time not having to re-rip every single disc I've got (around 40) and instead just make .iso's out of the folders.
Here's what I've done step-by-step.
1. Transfered a game for testing from the X1 to my PC (Psychonauts).
2. Unsure of exactly how to convert the folder to an ISO2GOD readable .iso I tried using Frogy_007's tool.
3. I imported the .iso into ISO2GOD. It reads out as it should and I rename the title to fit.
4. ISO2GOD converts the .iso into a folder, and is transferred onto the 360.
Now this is where it went wrong, horribly wrong. The game reads out as an Xbox 1 original game disc in the standard dashboard, and it can start up the game - but after the Xbox 1 white/lime logo i receive an error and it wants to quit the game. (Googled the error and it seems it is related to Region)
Alright - So the Xbox 360 either requires a title update or the "emulator" files that were recently leaked, which bypass region checks (similar to XBMC). So I downloaded the 8955 Fall 09 update (the compatability one), put it on a USB pen as usual and restart the Xbox. But no - nothing happens when it reloads the dash. I figure it already has the update and won't re-install it. So on with the emulator approach. Downloaded, installed, retried the game - same error.
Where or what am I doing wrong here? (IMG:
