Hex Edit Achievements In .xex File?
« on: March 19, 2010, 03:45:00 PM »

Is it possible to edit or delete achievements from a game's default.xex or other xex file? I've opened the snes360 in a hex editor and was able to search and find names and descriptions of achievements, but I don't know what to change to turn them on or off.

Also if this is possible, will I need to rehash and resign my xex once I am finished? Please give info on that as well.

The reason I want to do this is so I can edit the achievements of homebrew like snes360 or genesisplus360 so I will feel a little bit more safe using my xbox live profile on my JTAG box.

Le Fluffie App will edit a profile I don't know if it will let you do what you want but it's worth a try I know you can unlock achievements but I'm not sure about deleting them

The whole point of removing the achievements from the .xex is so that Le Fluffie isn't necessary. There was a lengthly discussion about this a while back, but we dropped the subject in that thread since we had kind of taken it over.

Anyway, the point is, it sucks to have to delete achievements so that we can use our profile on a non-JTAGed Xbox 360 (such as a second home console or a friends console). It'd be nice if homebrew releases that want to have achievements came out in 2 versions: with achievements, and without achievements, the non-achievement version also being a "demo" as opposed

I don't think we'll need to resign the code though...I thought JTAGed Xbox 360s didn't need any signing, but maybe I'm just ignorant on this.
