I decided to make a god container of psychonauts which is on the list. I extracted the game and then recreated it with createisogood which uses crear.exe and exiso.exe to recreate the iso. Then used iso2god to create the god container and followed the instruction in this thread. I get a message about its not a supported game with error codes x:2689.0 b:1884.0

Anybody know what i did wrong???

I'll tell ya, youre the victim of too little information given out by the people who know how to do it who are either too lazy or too "leet" to spend the time to write a step by step tutorial to help everyone else, if i figure it out i will write a tut.

Too little information is just a waste of time. If you got it working and not willing to write out how you done it save your bragging for someone who really cares.

Read the bottom 2 post here ... http://www.xboxhacker.org/index.php?topic=14164.0

I can get worms mayhem to work, but I can't get Jet Set Radio Future to work. Can someone confirm the title ID of Jet Set Radio Future (NTSC)

BTW, I get the unsupported game error on JSR:F. I did put the $Titleupdate in the root directory of the hdd, but I did nothing else. I'm not sure if there is supposed to be other file replacements or not (like the actual emulator default.xex). I didn't think I needed to though.

Also, you patch just the "stub" (the small file next to the data directory), not any of the chunks in the .data directory.

Thanks for the info, i will try with Fable and if i get it to work i will create a tut.  One thing i am assuming, is that if you cannot play the original xbox 1 game in your 360 then you won't have any chance of making it work as partition 2 requires the compatibility update, plus all the correct files on it. and of course only the games that are included in the compatibility list will work anyway.

 - Are you limited to 20, 60, 120 and 250 gig official (or hacked equivalent) sizes only?, or is there a tool to take any size HD and create the partitions with the required files ?

I also have made GOD containers for both Psychonauts and Panzer Dragoon Orta. Both give me the same error about not being supported. I have also made one for Halo 2 which works fine. I have installed all updates from both system update files (default.xex one and the TU_fusion one that was linked to earlier in this thread). I know both of these games are supported but I am not sure of the error. Can I just change the title ID for these to another game (Halo 2) and run them that way? Also thank you to everybody who helped write these tools and make this possible.

Not sure if this is of any help, but i did read that if you have used a ripped version where the default.xbe has been altered in anny way then the game won't work, so it is always best to rip directly from an original

The default.xbe file from the iso must be untouched and the game must be on the backwards compat' list it must also be the right region for your box.

1)extract your iso to a folder I use exiso from cmd line (exiso -x game.iso)

2)use createisogood to make another iso from that folder http://www.megaupload.com/?d=1892U01T

3)use iso2god to make a god file and container, here you must enter the details yourself, so enter a name and enter the title id, to get the title id for the game use DEXBE http://www.megaupload.com/?d=7T280VTZ just load the xbe and click on the log tab and scroll down to see the Title Id.Then enter 00000000 for the media id, in Disc enter 1 / 1 and in Plat and Ex enter 0 (dont forget to add an icon that shows on the dash by clicking the square box)

4)after iso2god has finished place the small file (44kb file) from the 00007000 in a folder with God2XB1 http://rapidshare.com/files/361121752/God2XB1.rar
and from command prompt type god2xb1 small_file_name ie for my halo it was god2xb1 DE75833B48870A5AB694
return the small file to the 00007000 folder.

5)rename the 00007000 to 00005000 and upload to your 360's HDD content/0000000000000000/
enjoy your old Xbox 1 games

Note: You can use XDVDMulleter to check if the default.xbe is patched (misc functions), if it is you can sometimes fix it
All credit and a big thanxs to rab over on xbh for this

Thanks for the reply. I have checked the default.xbe with xbefix and it returns as valid. I have also verified that the game is the correct region using dexbe. Everything seems like it should work and I know the emulator works fine (can play Halo 2). I have also tried the disc and it does the same thing. Maybe we should start of list of games that work and ones that dont.

I wouldn't do anything like that just yet, because in a few months, you might end up with a list longer than you care to read. Give them time to work out bugs and find out better compatibility patches. Hell, nothing has even been mentioned about all the xbe patches that could be applied.

Also, the default.xbe does not have to be original. I'm not too sure if the information about what can and can't be done to the default.xbe is completely known yet. I know I've booted several of them patched so far, and they work. From what I've tried so far I can say this. If they work, they work patched or not, if they don't work...well they don't work.

excellent,  i got fable working fine,  i used my kreon dvd rom and xbox backup creator to first create an iso image in case i should ever need it and then extracted the files from the iso (using ixbox backup creator still) into its own folder. I created my own .png thumbail picture for the icon and freestyle dash shows it up quite nicely.

thanks for the walkthru, its nice when people make it clearer and you dont have to stumble through a process

I do have one question concerning GOD2XB1 though. Do I need to run every data file through it? Or do I need to just run the first one? Or perhaps I am completely buffooning it and am not supposed to use the Data files? I'm not quite sure if I am doing this right as I am using my vpn to connect to home computers. And convert my xbox collection to GODs.

You run it against the 45k stub file, not the 160mb data files.

Yes, you have an ancient version of the emulator, presumably from before your game was supported. See my post at the bottom of the first page.

It really does have to be original. It's digitally signed, if you tamper with it the signature will be invalid and it will not run. Unless you have a hacked version of the emulator. Or somehow your xbox is magic and defies the laws of computer science.

You dont need to extract the iso before iso2god, just the default.xbe to get the titleid.

Then use "insertxsf.exe isoname" , then load in iso2god and enter correct titleid etc, like explained before, then extract the god from the iso in iso2god, then run God2XB1 on the con file, then rename folder 00007000 to 00005000 and upload to xbox360 content/0000* folder.

All files needed, and more details on how they work, are explained in more detail in the xbh thread.

What im wondering, is if we can extract an iso, then patch the files to make it regionfree, then rebuild iso?
I thought this might work with XDVDMulleter or something.

Cause the region limits are of course real annoying (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

Found this region patching tutorial on another site though I can't post a link to it since it contains some copyright material and I edited 2 of the links due to filtering of tinyurl by XS. I haven't tried this myself yet:

QUOTE
Here is a tutorial explaining how to hex edit Xbox 1 XBE's to your region so the game works on your Xbox 360 through the Xbox 1 emulator.

First, you need the hacked Xbox 1 emulator that disables the RSA signature check (by le_uberfry) that allows you to run region patched XBEs:

http://lmgtfy.com/?q=team+captagon

Extract these files to the Compatibility folder on Partition 2 of your Xbox 360 HDD but remember to backup the files already there. Also, delete any Fusion Updates in the Cache folder. Use xm360 to check if you have any fusion title updates.

Next, you need to use C-Xbox Tool's ISO EXPLORE function to extract the default.xbe and any other xbe's.

Open the xbe(s) with a hex editor and the region is "usually" found after the game name, the most common offsets are 0x218, 0x220, 0x224.

Change the value at one of the above addresses to any of the following:

PAL - 0x04
USA - 0x01
JPN - 0x02
RF - 0x07

To see whether you have the correct offset for the region, open the edited XBE in deXBE:

http://www.multiupload.com/KKTU8O1I8I

Go to the Certificates tab and see if the Region has changed to what you edited it to. If it did, congrats, you patched, the correct offset!

Now, use C-Xbox Tool to replace the default.xbe and other xbe's if available with the patched ones and proceed to make the Xbox Originals container and see if the game now works on your region of Xbox 360.

I'm not a coder so if someone is able to make a program that patches *only* the game region in the XBE then by all means go ahead as deXBE modifies too much of the XBE to patch only game region that the game no longer works in the Xbox 1 emulator.

http://www.caustik.com/cxbx/download/xbe.htm

Note: This does not work with all games.

I don't think all the emulators have been patched (correct me if I'm wrong). Probably if it doesn't work your game uses one of the unpatched ones. Region patched Buffy doesn't run (Buffy 2 does), when I get home I'm going to have a look at which emulator it uses and see if it's one of the unpatched ones, as I suspect it to be.
