EMail me your CPU key and I'll have a go

xboxguru23 at gmail dot com

It's included with the nand.  I zipped up a text file containing the cpu key with the nand.

Just to confirm, I too was able to patch your NAND on XP SP2. I just downloaded FlashDumpTool from here: http://www.xbox-scen...ashDumpTool.php. I didn't even have it on my PC before now.

I've no idea why it was crashing on your machine tho!

I don't think you'll need my copy, but let me know if you do and I'll upload it for you.

I am using the newest one 0.91 that I downloaded from the same location.

I have tried Windows XP SP3 32-bit, Windows 7 32-bit, Windows 7 64-bit and XP Mode in Windows 7.  They all crashed when I clicked patch.

I still would like to find out why it keeps crashing.

What version of .NET Framework are you running?

What's your PC configuration? Make model of components?

For all the OSs you tried, were they fresh native installs?

I tried a completely different computer.  A Dell with a P4 1.7GHz and Windows XP SP3 and the program still crashes.

My computer I normally use is a custom build gaming rig with:

AMD Phenom II X4 955 3.2GHz
Asus M4A79T Deluxe
ATI Radeon HD 4780x2
4GB DDR3 1600MHz Ram
1TB Western Digital Caviar Black
640GB Western Digital Blue
2TB Western Digital Green
2TB Hitatchi Deskstar
iZ3D 22" 3D Monitor

With Windows XP:
.Net 1.1
.Net 2.0
.Net 3.0
.Net 3.5

With Windows 7
.Net 3.5 is part of Win 7.

This is really bugging me.

On a 3rd machine I did a fresh install of Windows XP.  It still crashes when I click "Patch".

EDIT:  I would hate to have to ask for someone to patch it for me every time I need something to be changed.

I installed Net 1.1.  Still crashes
I installed Net 2.0.  Still crashes
I installed Net 3.5.  Still crashes

Anyway to contact the main author.  This needs to be fixed.

I have tried FOUR different computers and 360 Flash Tool crashes with all.  On 2 fresh installs I did, I installed no extra programs.  I only install the security updates.

Well, I guess its time to start pulling out PCI cards! And if it has onboard video, the video card too! So its just the HDD, Memory, and CPU! biggrin.gif  lol Have you tried the older versions? (v0.88a, v0.88b, v0.90)

2 of the computers were virtual.

v.90 crashes when I click Patch

v0.88b can't decrypt the KV even though the cpu is correct.  I can at least click Patch and it does not crash.

It must be the 'DevKit' version, because I was able to change the 'DVD Key' and 'OSIG' with that. Try this. Otherwise, something weird is going on! unsure.gif

I finally got v0.88b to recognize the cpu key.  I can click patch to change the settings.

At least it has the setting for the 2 benq drive.

I still want to know why v0.90 and v0.91 crash when you click on Patch.

Again, WOW! I just tried this with every computer in my house. I tried 3 different computers all with Windows XP Pro SP3 (one was a DeLL), with all updates and also Windows 7, with all updates, and all worked!. lol Check to see if you have every update installed. For Windows XP, you'd have to goto there update website, (Start->Programs->Windows Update) not the update program. When you did a fresh install, did you install ANY programs whatsoever? Because if you didn't, then its GOT to be your computer is totally screwed up beyond repair and just throw it out the window. Seriously! lol  biggrin.gif

And heres something even crazier, if you have the time, you could try this. I had 'Ubuntu Linux' installed via Virtualbox. And you will never believe what just happened. I ran '360 Flash Tool' using 'WINE' and, you'll never believe this, IT WORKED!!! Is there even .NET in WINE!!! lmao I opened the original bin, clicked patch, set everything, saved it to a NEW file, and NO ERROR! Seriously? How messed up is that! So, somehow, it's got to be your computer! What I don't understand, is you tried multiple computers, and all wouldn't work. Now thats messed up! lol Ctrl+Alt+Del EVERY program, and see what happens, and I mean EVERY program! lol Try re-downloading the program. The MD5 should be: abdd3b0be7f6fa8cc6cbb2ade6bd551e

IPB Image  tongue.gif

Something funky is definitely going on.  I just installed Ubuntu Linux in a Virtual Machine and 360 Flash Tool crashed when I clicked patch.  The MD5 matches.

In which case, it's a hardware issue. Whether you get to the bottom of it or not is a different matter.

I just had a friend of mine do it and it crashed on him too.

His computer is completely different then mine.

He has an Intel CPU and I have an AMD.
He has an NVIDIA video card I have an ATI.
He has DDR2 Ram I have DDR3.
He has Windows XP Home and I have XP Pro.

Any chance it's a region problem?

The country your in.

I'm just spewing anything that is different between your setup and mine.

There must be a reason why you can patch and my friend and I can't.
